Uh yeah, I DO think that is totally insane.

You can buy/print your own adhesive labels for WAY less.

You can even get more creative with non-adhesive labels (attached via ribbon or some such), self printed etc.

If I were quoted that I would have laughed in their face, seriously. They better have been offering free international shipping for that price.

ETA: maybe they forgot a decimal?

I do agree that’s quite expensive for personalized labels.  That’s like $1.18 per label, how big are the labels?  Actually, I have been in the personalized candy wrapper business for the past 8 years, and my highest price is .75 each for a Hershey size bar.

And yes, of course, you can make them yourself to cut costs.  One of my past brides admitted to make her own wrappers, she ended up coming to back to me after all.  She said, after purchasing all the suppliers and it took lots of ink and then the cutting all the wrappers, that would take so much time.

So, it’s really up to the bride and her budget.  Each bride is different, one might just purchase the 200 chocolate bar wrappers (chocolate not included) and assemble them herself and save $150 and the one might just want the whole thing done.

No, that makes perfect sense…if they are printed on gold leaf.

Read the Bridal Bargains book sometime – it says the same thing – “do you think I’m stupid because I’m getting married?” and points out how people think they can scam you. A floral designer said straight to my face – we charge $30 for an arrangement like that, but since it’s for a wedding it will be $50 for you! I am glad you found another etsy person and if not this is a mangeable DIY project.

You can get white sticker paper at Staples for under $10 that goes through your printer at home (the backside of the paper peels off just like a sticker).  I suggest take an evening and make your own labels at home and save yourself a couple hundred dollars.
