Hi bees, I have an interesting doubt. Did your e-ring fit when he proposed?

FI just bought my ring thinking we could resize it later, the ring was 6.5 which I thought I was, turns out I'm a 6 and it had to be resized.

    How about you?

My fingers are abnormally chubby, and my ring was WAY too small, that we couldn't even get it past my 2nd knuckle!  Needless to say, we had to get it resized. :)

DH and i looked at rings together, they sized me and i was a 5.5.  i later emailed him all the info about the ring we found so he wouldn't forget including my size.  of course when he went to buy it, he did not bring this info with him and thought he remembered that it fit his pinkie, so he got a ring that was much too big!  typical DH.

He was sneaky and got his sister to talk about rings with me and she asked me my ring size.  I had NO idea it was for him since we talk regularly and was talking alot about rings at the time since she was soon to be engaged at the time as well.  I told her it was 4.5, which I thought I was too, but turns out I'm closer to 4-4.25.  We havent got it resized since my hands do swell up so that it usually fits in the summers, and I put a sizer on it for winter.

@pinkshoes: He asked my sister too but forgot by the time he bought it.

Before we took it to resize he made me put it in the freezer and then try it on again in case it shrinked in the winter, but wheather doesn't chage that much where we live so hopefully it won't be an issue.

@Coffee cup: men! haha.  Lucky with the weather!  My ring goes anywhere from snug and hard to get off in hot humid summer days to about to fly right off my hand with a slight fling of the wrist during winter when its in the teens.

    Nope!

He bought the average womens ring size and I had our jeweler fit it after engagement, as it was too big.

No, he took my right hand ring and matched the size to that, but my left ring finger is about a size and a half smaller than my right so I had to get it resized.

Well, the way I let FI know I was ready to be married was by telling him my ring size, so that settles that one :P

I had told him the wrong size! LOL. I like to think I'm big, strong, and mighty, but I'm pretty pint-sized, and I told him a 4.5 when it's actually a 3.25. Oops!

Thankfully I'd just gone shopping a while earlier had my other ring cleaned up and sized, and I found out that I was more fun-sized than I'd originally thought. I made sure to point it out to him, AND to leave that ring sitting around for a bit so he could see for himself. When he proposed, my e-ring was the perfect (actual) size. :-)

We shopped together, and were told I was a 6.  So we bought a ring in a 6, but turns out I am a 5.25/5.5 so we ended up having to get it resized a week or two later.

He actually guessed my size correctly!

    Crazy huh?

He said he compared my finger to the size of his pinky on the sly  :)

The 6 fit really nice, though 5 3/4 is nicer for my band

Mine was about 6 sizes to big!.. I had to go from a 11.5 to a 6.5 (It was his grandmothers and she had huge monkey fingers...)

The sales people told my FI to get me a bigger size..he was pretty sure I was a 4..I think they sold him an 8. I had that thing sized like 10 times...I was like obsessed with the idea it could fall off.

I had to go down half a size.  I was so worried about losing it when he first proposed because it constantly would spin around on my finger and could easily fall off if I moved my hand a certain way.

I told him my size wrong. I thought I was a 5 1/2 or so. He ended up getting a 6. My finger is actually a 4.5... OOPS!

he snuck the jeweller one of my rings when he went to look at rings, but i used to only wear rings on my middle finger, so it was too big, even with the jeweller's guess about my ring finger being smaller

We had to get it resized. He knew my ring size, but it was an heirloom ring, and was a little big. He was too eager to put it on my finger to wait to have it resized first. :)

I wanted an eternity band so he knew he had to get my size. We were in a Macys one day and randomly just decided to double-check my size. My ring is a 6.5 and probably a bit too big but I like how it fits.

My setting was sliiightly crooked when he proposed so we ended up back at the jeweler the next day anyway.

We bought the ring together...and it still didn't fit haha. I brought it to the darn jeweler myself after we bought it to get it sized, picked it up afterwards (didn't try it on there because I wanted the first time I saw it/wore it to be with FI when he "proposed"), and when I put it on that evening it was still too big /: I wore it for a couple weeks before finally taking it back to get properly sized.

We went shopping together for the ring and I got sized in the store.  It is a Tacori so they make it in whatever size you tell them to and I wanted it to be right! lol.  I probably got it about a 1/4 size too big but I swell during summer, etc. and worried it might be too tight with a band that fit the same size.  I would rather not ever size it if I don't have to.

I got my finger sized twice, on two different days, to see what size would be best for me before he ordered. The 5 was too big and the 4.5 was too tight (but still fit), so I went with 4.75.

He knew my size since I told the jeweler when we had my ring custom made! However, I'm one of those girls who has big knuckles (from years of thoughtless cracking), so it's always a struggle to get my e-ring on and off. My finger where the ring sits is about a 5.75, but my knuckle is about a 6.25, so we got a 6. When he proposed, he couldn't just slip the ring on my finger, so I had to shove it on myself... haha

The good thing is that I know my ring will NEVER fall off without me knowing. It's physically impossible.

No, it had to be resized, but that was my fault. I told him 4 1/2 but it really needed to be a 4.

My fingers swell when I sleep and in hot weather. So one night when I was sleeping FI took my promise ring and sized it against the ring sizers the jeweler provided him. He was so sneaky!! I had no clue!!!

I told him my ring size but he didn't buy the ring until 7 months later, at which point he'd lost the info and didn't want to bring it up because it would ruin the surprise. So he guessed, and it was too big, and it was almost not possible to have it resized due to the intracacies of the band. We got it done though, and now I can NEVER change it again! Haha.

We were in Penney's one day and I suggested that wer size my finger, just for future reference :)  (We had already talked about marriage quite a bit, but I was not expecting anything for a while).  He agreed, and they brought the sizer ring out and found my exact size.  He repeated it a couple times and I gave him a big kiss.

He ended up ordering my ring from Blue Nile a few months later, and hid it until my birthday week for my proposal :D

He thought he could figure out my size by taking one of my rings and putting it on his finger, and remembering how far he could fit it. Well, the ring he used is one that is big on my (larger) right hand, and he obviously did not remember right--he bought a 7 when I wear a 4!  And I wasn't able to get it resized for almost 2 months, it was nervewracking.

I was TERRIFIED about this before he proposed lol. I wanted to be able to take pictures and wear my ring after he proposed so I made sure to mention my ring size to him multiple times haha. He also knew that one of my biggest fears was that it'd be too small. I didn't account for weight loss though so, even though it fit when he proposed, it was a teensy bit big. It wasn't anything I couldn't handle but after about a month I was getting worried that I'd lose it so we got it resized.

@Coffee cup: My husband scoured my jewelry box while on the phone with my mom trying to get the best fitting ring to use for sizing. He got it right. It's never had to be resized or anything.

mine was a full size and a half bigger than it should of been - but thats my fault, i told him the wrong size apparently! haha im not much of a ring wearer so i tried my moms on and it fit so i assumed i was a size 5.5 well actually im a size 4 and the night he proposed i had it on and was digging through my purse, pulled my hand out and my ring was gone! i looked at him, he looked back at me and i was like oops, its in here somewhere! haha needless to say we sized it right away.

My husband bought me a ring for my birthday about one month before he proposed, which we had to get resized.  I didn't know that the only reason he'd bought me the birthday ring was so that he could be all sneaky and get my ring size for my engagement ring that he was also getting at the time!  It completely threw me off, though, as he told me that the b-day ring was a promise ring.  I was a bit sad when he told me that, because it was diamond and could have been an engagement ring.  I thought that it'd be another year or so before he got my e-ring...I was wrong (so, so sneaky!!!)

Mine fit perfectly which is really crazy because I DIDN'T KNOW MY RING SIZE!  I don't wear very much jewelry so my poor FI was forced to be creative.  He knows that I am super fidgity and if I see him playing with something, I will almost always take it to mess with!  So we went to an air show with my parents a few months ago.  He "accidently" ripped off his wristband and was sliding it on and off of his fingers.  I took it and started doing the same thing.  He took it back after I did that special finger and then tried it on each of his fingers to see which knuckle it fit best.  I was definitely SHOCKED when I saw that he even had a ring, so I almost hit the floor when it fit perfectly!
