That sounds lovely! Please post pictures once you’ve received it!! I know – they had been slow talking to me too but I think it is due to Valentine’s Day craziness. I’ve only ever talked to Chris in customer service/sales which leads me to believe there is only one person doing all the customer service. If so, then he’s (or she’s) likely swamped with all the orders and questions right now. Not to make excuses but it seems logical. Also, as I understand it – they do not generally have settings onsite, they order them as we order them, then set the Moissanite stones. So any custom work can take longer with questions to the bench jeweller or the setting supplier because MoCo has to wait to hear back from them to give answers/quotes to us.

scarlet1 :  Hi congrats on ordering your ring., I have the Sol251. Here’s a side photo. I have gotten a few compliments about the way the prongs curve around the stone from profile. It’s pretty!

scarlet1 :  Thank you! 😊 TBH sometimes I feel it is too much coverage, that’s why I usually stack it with bands. But my knuckles get quite swollen and a smaller stone always looks too small to my eyes. I should’ve gone a bit smaller but they were sold out and I am in love with the OECs.

Looking forward to seeing your new ring with the modifications! They did a nice job on mine. I asked that the stone to be set low for ease of wear.

scarlet1 :  Your custom order may just be my custom order too!!! I love the prongs on sol251 but have always wanted it as knife edge in platinum….cannot wait to see your final beauty!!

Hang in there with Chris – I have ordered from MoCo many times and it will be beautiful in the end!!

I also ordered a custom ring from MoCo recently (not an engagement ring, a RHR) and I felt the same way. I know many bees here said great things about MoCo but my first experience with them is so far not that great. While Chris was being helpful, communication was rather slow and dry. I did not feel like a valued customer at all. I understand it’s busy time but that’s a part of being in the jewelry business.

I have a few more designs I like from MoCo but am debating whether it’s worth the hassle and wondering whether the communication would be any better in the future. Anyone has suggestion for a reputable online jewelrer?

scarlet1 :  I am still in the process of communicating with them. Its been a solid month of back and forths…and I have started dreading the whole process already…It takes them 4-5 days just to reply to one email!! Getting quite frustrated as well…

Also, I am custom making a ring too! And I have asked for a 1.5 carat RB H&A to be set in a cushion halo! (Colourless as well)…I am asking to have it custom made because at all costs, I don’t want a gap between my halo and ring and after 3 weeks he tells me he can’t do one without a gap and I wouldn’t want one without a gap either. I’m not really sure what he means by he can’t do it! And of all the rings I’ve tried on/seen I like the ones that have no gap. I am still waiting on his reply, it has been a week. Not sure who else to order it from if things don’t work out with him!

Do keep us informed on how the process goes for you! My SO is ready to put down a downpayment and I think he wants to get the details of the ring all finalised so he can focus on the proposal. But its been such a long, dragged-out process with them! 🙁
