Haha weird. I told a woman who works on my hall that I had a feeling she was pregnant. She hadn't told anyone and I probably noticed around a month, I wasn't close to her so I didn't ask her until I heard it going around several months later that she said she was pregnant. I think she thought I was weird for saying oh wow, i just had this strong feeling you were, she was probably thinking why is this random lady thinking about me being pregnant but just every time I saw her it was like she was glowing or something.
SUPER STRANGE! And interesting. Is it a sense? Or do the pregnant people look different somehow?
I am one of those people who know when people are pregnant! I have no idea why but i've known with 7 different people now. I guess it's a strong sense that something has changed combined with the fact i'm quite perceptive so changes in habits, or health i pick up on quite easily.
To begin with I really used to freak people out by guessing a day or two after conception (one poor girl i asked her 10 minutes after she did a pregnancy test - she looked shocked!) I've now learned to keep my mouth shut as sometimes I think it's best to let the person find out by themselves and tell me when they're ready! I usually tell them afterwards though :-)
my hubby wouldn't believe me, bc I already felt chest changes before BFP...It was our first month of TTC, and he told me I had been too stressed out the weeks before for it to happen, ha!
Yeah I have no idea how it would work but I also told my mom the day she was going to deliver my two youngest sisters. The first time she was insistent she was going to have the baby sometime that day and I said no it'll be thursday (which was in two day). And with the last one I was like oh you're going to have the baby today and she's like no I'm just going in for a drs appointment, but I just kept telling her no it's happening today, and she ended up going into labor before the drs appointment.
I had a weird vibe my SIL was pregnant. Something about her....then, that evening, she announced she was 6 weeks along. I didn't KNOW, i just had a weird inkling. I told her that and she said, "wow i hope i don't look fat already!" haha
My DH knew before I did. Pretty much IMMEDIATELY. He's creepy like that, LOL. He just looks at me one day and says "Yep, you're pregnant." I was like "I am not, how MEAN! I'm not even a little fat!" But he didn't mean fat, he meant I was acting "motherly" or something and also that my eating had violently shifted without me noticing!
My best friend knew we had been trying for a year. We were hanging out with a big group, and I was just not myself, kind of out of it and not as bubbly as usual. When we were alone, she says "you are SO pregnant" It was the first time all year she had said that, and lo and behold, 5 days later I got my BFP!
My Mother and my sister both said I was pregnant before I knew I was. My sister had some dreams that I was so she was going with that and I kept denying because a week or so before they told me, I tested negative. About a week later...it was positive. They too are creepy like that.
I can't say this is the case for my Mom and sister but maybe it helps that they have been pregnant before so they can "sense" it?!
I have been able to tell when women I know are pregnant. Not before they themselves know, but before they come out and say it. This past December I was at a Christmas party with FI's family and on the drive back to his parents' house I mentioned that I thought his SIL might be pregnant. When we got to his parents' house his brother and SIL broke the news that they were expecting. FI looked at me astonished and I just shrugged my shoulders like "I told you."
My Mom is one of those people who know before the mothers do. The woman doesn't even need to gain an ounce, my Mom can tell with mannerisms/body language. My Mom actually knew my cousin WASN"T pregnant when everyone was saying she was behind her back after she gained 30 lbs. She could tell it was just weight gain, how crazy is that??
I knew the day my cycle was late that I was pregnant...my cycle is regular down to the hour most months =)
I usually have the "fish" dream when someone close to me is pregnant. I had the dream about my friend and called her and told her she was pregnant. That was the ONLY reason she even took a pregnancy test. She was pregnant...had the baby this past December =)
@JamaicaBride - I know I have mentioned this in another post but the "fish" dream is very popular amongst my family. Crazy, Crazy!
@Roddy...we can't underestimate the power of the fish....LOL
my cousin can do this... it's crazy. i don't know why we even doubt her anymore... (btw what is BFP?)
Whats the fish dream? My sister had a dream 2 nights ago that I was pregnant. Hmmmmm....
A few months ago at work a coworker was walking across the stage and I was looking at her face and thought, I wonder if she's pregnant. It made no sense, she doesn't have a boyfriend or anything and just moved here from out of state. The next day at work, my guy friend was like, "Did you know so and so's pregnant? With twins?"
And my mom always has this nack for predicting things for me. It will be out of the blue and she's always right. "Oh, you're going to start that job and me a soldier and get married." "No way, I'm no getting married to a military guy." Well...now I've got an Army boy that I never want to let go.
Last summer out of no where she goes, 'Oh my god, you're going to have twins, you'll have two girls." I was like, "WHAT?!! No Way!" and she just said "yeah that will a handfull, good luck." I'm not pregnant now but every once in a while she'll remind me, throw it into normal conversation like it's a set thing. "Well you'll be having twin girls anyway so no need to worry about blah blah blah blah..."
So we'll see...part of me hopes that getting it out in the open will help it lose it's magic and maybe I won't be dealing with twin 16 year old girls twenty years from now.
somebody thought i was pregnant before i was... and luckily for me not due to my tummy! one of my mil's friends asked her if i was pregnant a few months ago, she said it was b/c of the way my husband and i act together. i think it's silly, we're newly weds, of course we're going to be all lovey dovey!

I have heard stories of aunts and children who just KNEW a woman was pregnant even before she did, but I never expected it to happen to me! THREE women - my best friend (who lives 1,200 miles away), my dance instructor, and my husband's aunt (who I only see a few times a year) ALL KNEW I was pregnant before I did!
The first was my husband's aunt. We were at a family party and she came up and grabbed my stomach and smiled and said, "are you?! are you?!" only 7 days after conception and before I knew I was pregnant. I was so mad at her for being rude, but it turns out she was right! My husband thinks she can smell a pregnancy from a mile away!
The second was my best friend. I called her and told her the day after I found out...and her response was, "I knew it yesterday! I knew that's why you were calling!"
The third was my dance instructor. I had a class with her just 7 days after conception (days before I confirmed I was pregnant), then didn't see here again for two weeks. By then I knew I was pregnant so I stayed after class to tell her (so she could make sure I was exercising safely). Her response..."I knew it! I knew it as soon as I saw you last time!"
