Did you ask your photog to avoid taking pictures of anyone? How did it go?

@gingerkitten:   Sorry, no advice or experience – I’m just tagging in because we have a similar situation.   We have one family member who *will* be wearing white – stark raving white –  and I will be wearing a warm ivory.    So far all we can think of is to concentrate on our first look photos and just grin and bear it through the family photos.

My photographer asked my DH and I to create groups of people that we wanted photographed so that they could focus on getting photos of people we wanted.  I stressed that I did not want photos of certain people and it really worked out….

Talk to your photographer or let someone in your bridal party know your situation.  If you are too busy to point out the person you don’t want photographed then your bridal party member should be able to help you out……..

@gingerkitten:   Lace???  Oh, good grief.  At least my Ms. Wearing White isn’t wearing white lace.

Your DW in Italy sounds wonderful!!

I’m a wedding photog myself. With only 25 people it’s going to be hard. Do your best to seat her as far away from you as possible and give your photographer the most help with this as possible. I’d try hard for you if I was your photog with zero guarantees. Esp with so few people. Candids are just that. We have zero control and if it becomes the difference between. Capturing a great moment she may be in and not shooting it, I’d shoot it.

@gingerkitten:  My husband’s father had a stroke a few months before the wedding, and was in a wheel chair.  He was very self conscious about the chair, and didn’t want his photo taken in it.  I asked both the videographer and photographer to avoid taking a photo of him in his chair wherever possible. They were totally cool with it.
