You are doing exactly the right thing. 30 weeks is no way too early. Also, some of the larger items are going to be things you want to choose yourself and be certain that you have ready.

Especially what’s related to the travel system. You’ll have to use it on a daily basis, better make sure it fits all your expectations and needs.

Other stuff are bonus, but they add up fast in a budget too. Even if all you get at your shower is a ton of clothings, diapers and stuff, that’s a lot of $$$ that stays in your pocket.

We purchased all the things for our children, since they are *our* children.  I wouldn’t wait or expect gifts (if you get them, most people will want to buy clothes anyways).

I’m sure a lot of people will frown on me for saying this, but I never think it’s appropriate to throw yourself a shower, since essentially you are throwing a party to get gifts.  It just seems grabby to me.  Just my two cents.

30 weeks is definitely not too early! I am waiting until our baby shower to get whatever I still need but that being said the big tickets items (crib, mattress, stroller, car seat, etc) I am keeping an eye on online and when a sale hits I plan on picking up even if its before the baby shower.

@Mrsgurzakovic:  I thinno important things like carseat bassinet diaper changer and swing a should b bought but don’t over do it. For example the organizer I wouldn’t buy bcz nt only e ppl going to buy u a TON of stuff but u don’t know what u truly need or don’t need. Im having my second baby and I scaled down a hell of a lot bcz soooooo much stuff I bought I never used. So in a sense she is right but in another so r u (btw belly buddies! I’m 33 wks)
