I am looking all over for the perfect dress and see alot of sites online but I am nervous to order online. Not being able to try it on makes me nervous but I know alterations are possible.
Did you order your dress online? Where from? Was it a success or a disaster? Any advice is appreciated!

I bought mine from an Etsy seller (Leanimal) and it turned out great! She posted the body measurements that the dress best fit which were fairly close to mine, although I still took my dress out to alterations both to get fitted and to ad a sash.
I would say as long as you have all the necessary info (size/measurements, materials, maybe return policy) and as long as you realize that you’ll 99% have to bring it in for alterations, I think online is a great way to go!

I don’t know about buying the ACTUAL dress online, but I’ve read lots of bees on here who have had really good experiences with Jasmine’s Bridal and DressilyMe replicas.
I *sort of* found my dress online- I found it online and like you, was afraid to buy something sight-unseen. So I did some research, found out who the designer was and the style number, and used their website to find some of the salons who carried the line.
From there, I made some phone calls and gave out the style number until I found a salon who either already carried the dress or was able to ship it in.
If you’re worried about the price, you could always find a salon that carries the dress you like, go try it on there, and then if you like it go home and order it through a reputable site/dealer.

I have bought a few dresses from BHLDN to try on since I do not live close to a store. The dresses aren’t custom cut so you can return them within 30 days.

@CarterLove: I got both of my dresses online – one from Nordstrom Bridal Suite (for my ceremony at city hall) and the other from Dressilyme (for my reception).
The Nordstrom dress was fine, but the Dressilyme one came in two sizes too small. Since I didn’t want to be dealing with all the international shipments back and forth, I got a corset-back put in by a local seamstress. The corset back was great, but during the reception night (wore my Dressilyme one to my reception), it started falling down so I covered up my top with an icy gray colored pashmina to prevent further wardrobe malfunctions. 🙂
If you have time for alterations/fixes, then I definitely recommend ordering online.
I just posted a recap if you would like to see pics of both dresses (Nordstrom = City hall, Dressilyme = Reception).
