    Hi all!

Yes, I did catch the bouquet and am the next one to get married. Yay for me!

I was just wondering if anyone else has the same story. And if so, what did you do with the bouquet? I kept mine and was wondering if I should give it back to the bride I caught it from as a Thank you (she will be at my wedding).  I didn't preserve it though. I did hang it upside down and dried it.

    Too funny!

One of my notoriously single not-wanting-to-get-married friends caught the bouquet. It was hilarious! We have a nice picture of us making funny faces in regards to it =]

Yep!  It took a couple of years, but it was worth it.

The one and only time I've caught the bouquet was almost 8 years ago at my friends wedding. And I've dated a few guys since. So nope!

I caught the bouquet at my future SIL's wedding! Crazy enough though, she was actually the next one to get married!

I caught the bouquet at my friend's wedding a couple days before FI bought the ring, but he didn't propose until three months later. Two of our friends have gotten married since then and I have another two or three weddings before mine. At least I caught it. :)

When one of my bridesmaids got married, I was a bridesmaid at her wedding. There was another bridesmaid who was waiting for a proposal. Everyoen thought I was the next to get married, but no one knew that I was in the process of breaking up with my ex fiancee (I was waiting until after the wedding to say anything). Anyway the bride, myself, and another bridesmaid all planned it so that the waiting bridesmaid would catch it. So when my friend threw the bouquet, I CAUGHT IT! I DIDN'T WANT IT!!! So I kind of volleyed it out of my hands into the waiting bridesmaids hands! It made a really funny video! Anyway, I am pleased to say that SHE WAS the next to get married!!! We were all so happy for her!

I was a BM for my friend's wedding las September and I caught the bouquet (with a little help from the bride, I think hehe) FI proposed 6 mts later and I am actually the next to get married! When it's my turn, I don't think I'll be aiming the bouquet at anyone in particular, I am just hoping to be able to get it in the right general direction :)

At my future cousins-in-law's wedding last year she aimed the bouquet directly at me but the little girl in front of me snagged it instead.  Then her new husband aimed the garter at my fiance (then boyfriend) but another cousin snagged it by reflex without thinking about it.  It was so funny to see the realization on his face when he realized that he caught it without meaning to and it was too late to fumble it!  So to answer the question, no, but it wasn't for lack of trying on the bride and groom's part!

I caught the bouquet at one wedding and I was determined never to catch one again. The wedding I attended after that one, the bouquet bounced off my torso and I refused to reach out and grab it. The wedding after that, the bouquet went right for me and I sidestepped it while a screeching woman to my right shoved people to the ground to dive for it. This was all over two years ago, so though I wasn't the next to get married, I am getting married after all! Lol!

@luny2ni I'm sure that your friend would appreciate the bouquet back....that's actually a really lovely idea that I never considered!  Sweet of you.

I've caught the bouquet at three other weddings and...I eventually just threw them out.  Eep!

Actually now that I think about this. I caught the bouquet and Mr. Giraffe caught the garter. And now that I think about it, we are the next to get married.

@gogogiraffes: DH's groomsman caught the garter and then his serious gf fought one of my friends for the bouquet. She got a few petals. They got engaged while we were on our honeymoon and are getting married next summer :)

DH was gunning for him cause he knew his friend at bought the ring about a month earlier :)

We have a really great shot of them fighting over the bouquet, btw.

Edit: if you look on the left against the wall, you can see the GM with the garter on his arm!

The last wedding we went to my FI caught it!

The bride did a huge toss and it went over all the girls heads and landed near my FI where he was talking to his mates, he turned around and picked it up and everyone screamed.  Poor guy he didn't know what was happening!

We were already engaged at the time but our wedding will be the 1st one since that one :)

I caught the bouquet at my husband's cousin's wedding just a few weeks after we got engaged.  I'm not the aggressive type and never really tried to catch a bouquet...this one just sort of feel in my hands!  Of course his whole family loved that I caught it!

i caught the bouquet at my friend wedding around the weekend of thnxgiving 2009 and met my hubby Dec 18th, only a couple of weeks later. How weird is that, the circumstances of how we met would never repeat itself in a thousand years,i too was not exactly out for the "whole single ladies gather for the bouquet tossing", i was just standing along and it sorta slipped from my friends hand and bounced on my shoulder and then right on my chest. My friend was a little mad, she obviously took it so serious, needless to say she got married dec 2010 and already has a little angel. whats even weirder is that she connected with her hubby on the same day i met mine, its so funny we were actually on the phone planning our outfits for the first date and everything. i guess that was one lucky bouquet. i get married in April, yayyyy to us!

    Thread necro!!!

I caught the bouquet at a good friend's wedding...but I think it was a setup lol.  She made sure I was in the front of the crowd and kept looking over her shoulder at me and threw it right in my hands so I didn't even have to jump :P.  She knew how badly I wanted to meet someone special and how I'd had a rough year with dating (loooots of assholes looking for "relationships" aka sex with no strings attached).  Then two weeks later, I met my SO and we're planning to get engaged this year.  Funny how it works out sometimes :)

I have never actually caught a bouquet (booooooo!!)

But, when I got married and threw my bouquet, a friend caught it and she ended up engaged 2 months later.... and a single flower from my bouquet came out when I threw it and the girl that caught that also got engaged (3 months later).  I think I had a lucky bouquet!!!

i never caught a bouquet in my life, even though people like my sister and best friend tried to throw it right to me, lol.  Although at my wedding, one of my BMs caught the bouquet and she was already engaged and her wedding was definitely the next one, so maybe that counts?!

I intentionally dodged the bouquet at a wedding I was in this fall, and apparently they were trying to set me up for it since I was next to get married! But they had done it backwards and done the garter toss first, and I was too freaked since I knew FI didn't catch the garter, I didn't want the Best Man putting it on me! It was funny though :)

We actually tied a gift certificate to my bouquet because there weren't a lot of single girls, and we had all the ladies there line up to catch it. The fun part is, that the girl who caught it actually was single (and unengaged), and she ended up eloping with the guy she was dating three days later :). Sort of a long story as to why, but they're very happy and planning to have a big wedding in a year or two when he gets out of the military.
