I’m thinking about buying a dress to change into sometime during the reception. I probably wouldn’t change into it until the very end of the party, because I love my gown so much and would feel guilty. Has anyone done this? Did you regret not doing this? I need some feedback here. We probably would have an after party so it would be nice to wear it to the bar of the hotel.
I’m thinking about just ordering a BM dress from NOIR in ivory: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Noir-By-Lazaro/Bridesmaid/Fall/2013/Style-3382

I got a BCBG dress to change into at the very end of the reception. We’re going straight from the reception to the airport, and while I love the wedding dress I made, I don’t know how comfortable it would be to fly in. So I got a fun, short, bodycon dress.
I’ve loved the weddings I’ve been to where the bride has changed, it’s fun to see her in her first outfit as a married woman! :}

I’m getting changed into a tea length dress for the dancing part of our reception. We are having Scottish country dancing which involves lots of twirling and my ball gown is just too heavy. Plus, we have lots of guests who have never done it before so they would be likely to step on the longer gown.

@McBezel: It’s adorable! I think it’s great if you want to wear it at the end/after party.
I wasn’t sure what to do for mine, because my dress is kind of bulky, and I like to dance, so I asked my cousin who recently got married and is a wedding planner. She told me that she decided to wear her dress the whole night because she loved it so much she knew she wouldn’t want to get out of it. And that’s how I feel too. I get one night to wear this dress so I am going to wear it as much as I can!
As a fun side note, she’s waiting till her best friends all get married and then they will rewear their wedding dresses to brunch together and have a photo shoot. I totally want to do that too!
