FI just told his parents not to go overboard. We'd rather have them help contribute to the wedding than plan a huge rehearsal dinner. I think we're having ours in the side room of a pub/restaurant. For my brother's wedding my mom hired a caterer and we used our backyard, there's no real guidlines for what it has to be.
Traditionally the rehearsal dinner is all about the groom's parents & they're in charge of it. I'm just happy to sit back & them take care of it. It's 1 less thing I have to do.
@Dancy905: I was all about what your mother did for your brothers! But it got out of hand and they were spending too much money and limiting whom we wanted to invite as in out of town guests! So we will see how it goes!
FI and I were responsible for finding a variety of places since his parents are out of town. We brought them menus and price estimates from 5 places with all different cuisine. They ended up agreeing to our suggestion which made me happy.

I had planned how I wanted the rehearsal dinner and then my future in laws had other ideas! Well I let them go with it until FI and I realzied it was not what we wanted and FI is about to put a stop to it! Anyone else have issues with the after rehearsal dinner!
