Yep, we had a buffet style wedding, so while the guests went up to get their food, the wedding party was served theirs. And we made sure to hit our cocktail hour so we could greet our guests. I was paying for it, so I made damn sure I got to eat it!
We had a seated dinner, and we asked our waiter to leave our plates for all of the courses until we okayed him to clear them. Worked perfectly :)
