I originally wanted a ruby e-ring in a white gold or platinum setting. But after looking around we realized to get a good quality ruby would be very expensive and would be a very difficult process. Thus I ended up getting an antique I love!!!! It was a third of the price we were going to spend on the ruby alone. It’s a .37 carat round diamond, platinum in the front and gold in the back and over 100 years old.

Yes! Several years ago when I thought I might be okay with getting married, I wanted a platinum trellis setting, pave band, and an exactly 1ct princess cut diamond. I had no idea what diamond sizes would look like, nor what size ring I wore.

I remember pricing out something similar on Blue Nile and it being really expensive, and I think that, subconsciously, that was me keeping my ex at bay.

I ended up with a very vintage-style, .5 tcw, white gold halo ring:
