If so, what was it?! I’m really struggling to find a gift (gifts) that all my BMs will actually like. I received a silk shawl that worked with the wedding decor once and I liked that, but that bride is now one of my bridesmaids so it feels like cheating + they’re pricey and I have several bridesmaids + some of my bridesmaids are not the girly girl type, so I’m not sure if they would appreciate. I’d love it if it could somehow be a momento/meaningful but that’s not essential.
About them, if it’s relevant: I have one sporty/party girl, one hippy/sporty girl, one hippy/artsy girl, one preppy/woodsy girl, and one funky/city girl. Two are wealthy, and two are not-so-wealthy do-gooders. Two are students, and three very long work long hours. They’re in their twenties and early thirties.
Also, ever heard of a great gift for the groomsmen?
Heard of great gifts for the parents?

I did! I got a great bag with my name on that I used in the other 2 weddings I was in and as an overnight bag sometimes. I also got a custom wine glass that had a caricature of me on it, flip flops I wear all the time, some great body washes from Sephora and a frame of the two of us thats up in my office. Oh and jewelry to wear the day of the wedding that I wore several times after the wedding.

I think my favorite was a bag full of MAC makeup that the bride had personalized for my coloring. It was so useful, many awesome products, and I definitely used the makeup all the time.

I got a really nice beachy type bag filled with all kinds of goodies…flipflops, a really fun floppy hat, a monogrammed beer koozie (with my initials, not the wedding date!), a monogrammed beach towel – can you tell the theme of the wedding was beachy.
My cousin gave her bridesmaids totally different things that fit their personality – almost as if it was a Christmas or birthday present. None of the gifts were alike in any way – I thought it was really cool – very personal.

I’ve written about this a couple of time before, mine was a personalize bath wrap. I love it and would use it as my Bridesmaid or Best Man gift, if my Maid/Matron of Honor hadn’t gone and bought herself and another one of my bridesmaids one right after I received it.
I love reading these. I am having the hardest time coming up with a gift idea, and my mom keeps nixing every idea I have!

I have been in several weddings where I got several things in a bag and never used them again. My friend’s wedding this year she got us stuff from the Christmas Tree Shop–now I am all about saving money and shopping there, but for a Bridesmaid or Best Man gift really?!? I ended up throwing everything away after.

When I was in MOH’s wedding she gave me a very pretty Givenchy necklace with crystals that I still wear and get lots of compliments on when I wear it.

The dress! We got those wear multiple ways jersey dresses. I know the bride found them online for a reasonable price I would have had no problem paying but it was nice that she bought them for us and packeged them up in a cute box. I’m sure I’ll wear it again after he wedding too – maybe on my honeymoon!

A weekend getaway for us girls at the Mall of America. While I am not a big shopper and the prospect of spending 3- 8 hour days horrified me, I met my now best friend! She was another bridesmaid. Her and I sat in Carribou Coffee for almost 19 hours total drinking coffee and chattin’ it up!

I got a cute little black purse (knock off Prada style from Korea, where the groom was stationed–we all got one and it is perfect for going on–good size, very trendy. NOt something i’d buy myself but very cool!) filled with goodies for the wedding like a neat necklace (it wasn’t real, but it had a small pearl charm, a little heart, and my last name initial, which i think is something everyone would like), a GC for hair/makeup and a sparkly hair pin for the day of.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Tannery Pond at the Darrow School
I like the idea of getting something different and personal for each girl…I got them all nice jewelry from this store we’re all obsessed with but each piece was different and specific to each girl’s taste (and is not intended to be worn for the wedding!)

my cousin got married 2 summers ago and got us all pink totes with our wedding jewlery, a compact, sparkly powder…stuff for the wedding.
i use the tote ALL THE TIME for the gym, overnight stays, even car trips.
i would suggest getting them things for the wedding. their jewlery, maybe their shoes…stuff thats useful, especially if you or your girls are on a budget!!

The dress, the shoes and the pandora bracelet!! (it only had one charm on it) but she got me started! I loved being a bridesmaid at my friends wedding, she was very organised and we always knew were we stood when it came to duties, but had a great time 😀
