Tomorrow is my anatomy scan and I am so excited to find out the sex of our baby! But it got me thinking, has anyone NOT been able to find out the gender of their baby? (I’m not referring to team greens who prefer not to.) Did you have to go back for another scan because they couldn’t get other measurements? Did you decide to have another just to see if you could find out the sex? What did the gender of your baby end of being? (Maybe it’s harder to tell with one sex?)

I was worried that baby wouldn’t cooperate and we’d have to come back but with all the moving the baby did our US tech had no difficulty spotting the 3 little lines that indicate girl. Enjoy the US because that was one of the best moments of my life so far hearing that it was a girl!

@calgarymommy2b: I’m seriously so excited! This is my third, and you could easily tell it was a boy with my first and girl with my second. I guess these pregnancy hormones are making me more anxious than ever! Haha. It never crossed my mind that we wouldn’t be able to tell but now it’s all I can think about!

@sunshine_kar: Awww, I can’t vote 🙁 I did find out with all except the first one because my doctor at the time didn’t do anatomy ultrasounds. For the ones where I did find out it was girl, girl, boy, boy.

I’m not sure if it counts, but when my sister was pregnant with my nephew, her doctor kept switching between him being a boy or a girl. I think it took three ultrasounds before they became fairly confident that he would be a boy.
I do have friends who like to post on Facebook when they’re finding the gender, and the definitely go back if the baby doesn’t cooperate the first time around!

We didn’t find out and it ended up being a boy 🙂

I’m high risk and get an ultrasound at every appt so i actually found out at 16w 5d… Otherwise we wouldn’t have found out til the anatomy scan though we probably would have gotten an elective scan.
It really depends if baby cooperates. Generally at the anatomy scan you are far enough along, it’s simply that sometimes baby doesn’t cooperate and they cannot find the right goods.
We found out we were having a boy.. she was positive because she got a picture of the goods and the umbilical cord. But we will definitely ask them to check again at anatomy scan at 20 weeks just as a final say.

we were able to @ our 19week scan. we than had to follow-up with maternal/fetal medicine so we got 2 more U/S through them….I had them double check everytime and make sure she was still a girl 🙂

DD wouldn’t co-operate at my scan (and typically they don’t want to tell you the gender here anyways..booo).
We went to a 3D scan a few days later and found out she was a girl 🙂

I had to go back for a second scan. My first was at 18w. My DH decided to reschedule for when the best possible chance would be that we could find out the gender and still get the rest of the measurements they needed for the anatomy scan. We found out the gender at 22w.

The gender was clear to the tech at the ultrasound and she confirmed it. But we knew earlier through CVS

My cousin had two ultrasounds telling her it was a girl and then surprise! It came out a boy. My uncle had to do a quick redecorating of the Nursery as it was decorated with pink and purple butterflies. SO and I can’t wait to find out what are little peanut is, still way too early for us though. Good luck!
