I did see a few that I loved on this site before I found mine, but unfortunately for me it isn't that easy with any clothing. I am very short and curvy, so most styles make me look fat or pregnant or just plain don't fit. There were also a lot of dresses I like that couldn't even be altered to fit me, so I had to let those go.
At the end of teh day I knew I had to get a sweetheart trumpet style dress and it coudln't have any large details, the embelishment had to be uniform. And no lace, most lace patterns are too big for my small frame. So really there are only a few options and I happened to find the perfect one at POB.
I voted no, but then I remembered that's not entirely true! I found the first dress I bought on my own, but was having dress doubts. Few months later I saw a Romona Keveza dress here that made me feel like I was punched in the gut. Major dress envy! I called all the stores in my area who carried that line but none of them had the dress yet as it was from the brand new 2010 collection. So I forced myself to forget about it.
5 weeks before my wedding, at that point already having TWO dresses, I coincidentally walked into a store looking for accessories and the Romona Keveza designer was there. He said something like his dresses would look so good on me. I asked him half joking if he had the L195 and he did! He was very excited I knew one of his models by name & number too :) While I had zero intentions of buying a dress that day, somehow I walked out of that store having placed an order. As soon as I walked out I felt horrible for buying a third dress, I felt embarrassed and stupid. Then I told myself it probably won't get here on time anyway and I'll just sell it. The dress did arrive a week before the wedding...Had to go through rush alterations and didn't fit me so well...And I almost couldn't wear it...But I ended up wearing it anyway, for my reception. And I loved it so so much! So yes, I ended up $3600 poorer because of a WB post but a much happier bride. So I'm very glad I saw that post.
Ironically, the same bride posted a couple months later about how she was no longer sure about the dress because her mom doesn't like it. I wrote to her that she was my dress inspiration and sent her pics from my wedding. I hope she decided to keep it and loved it as much as I did.

I have all of you bees to thank for introducing me to Maggie Sottero. Before I knew about WB I had not ever heard of her. Now, all I want is a Maggie.
As for "the dress" -- I fell in LOVE with it after seeing a picture of it posted from another bee's wedding (thank you baileyh!!) It looked great on her and on everyone else I've seen it on.
I haven't been able to try it on myself but will be ordering it anyway...hopefully this weekend.
Did any of you find your dress because you saw it first posted here on Weddingbee? I'm so curious!
