I'm getting down to the wire with respect to planning time, and as many of you know I've been obsessing about checklists and to do lists.

You would think that I'm totally on top of things with all the thought I'm putting into this, but all of a sudden this morning, I realized that I totally neglected to think about legwear for under my dress.  (Like I'd be in knee high boots with no socks or tights!)

I just scrambled to order some appropriate tights and such, but I really can't believe that I forgot something so elemental!  They will be delivered with like 3 days to spare :o

Is there something that you forgot until the very last minute (or until it was too late)?  Please share what it was.  You may jog my (or someone else's) memory before it is too late!

FILM for the Polaroid cameras we used for our guestbook!  And something borrowed and something blue!

one of my bridesmaids advised me to think about cars and how people (especially the bridal party) will be getting to our various appointments, the wedding, and the hotel at the end of the night.  they realized the night before her wedding that she had no way to get to the ceremony since her mom and bridesmaids filled up one car!

I forgot to have my bridesmaids bustle my dress after the ceremony.  My husband and I ate dinner in a separate area during the cocktail hour of our reception, and immediately after we ate we were supposed to have our "grand entrance" down a huge staircase and then immediately start our first dance.  I knew I couldn't get through the first dance w/o my dress bustled, so I had to get a somebody on the catering staff to go find my sisters for me.  (Neither my husband or I had cell phones with us, and we didn't have a DOC.)

Aside from that little glitch, I forgot to get a guestbook pen and tongs for the cookie buffet until the last minute, and I wish I had better planned what I said when it was my turn w/ the microphone at the reception.

@krgk- well if you haven't forgotten legwear and old/new/borrowed/blue, you're probably doing pretty well!

    Hang in there!

I'll second the stressing out that I'm forgetting something important.  It's really not fun!

Transportation for all the helpers/wedding party to the farm is one that I haven't given much thought to.  (I'm really not used to having limited parking anywhere!)

    ETA: Oh hell.  Parent gifts!!

    @caitlanc

Yeahhh we decided to do the whole wedding album/book thing for both sets of parents (MyPublisher or Blurb or something) SO we just got cute family oriented photo frames (about $20 each) for each set of parents for now to give to them at the rehearsal dinner (with a photo of us in it)...and in the card we put with the frame we'll explain that their main gift will be coming in a few months.

The marriage license! It was in the car--thankfully--but I had a mini-freak-out moment when it was time to do the signing!

    Oh yeah. Marriage license. Haha.

Wait, what legwear? Lol. I don't think I'm going to have anything .. not even a garter b/c I refuse to do the garter toss ritual.

The only thing I really wish I'd thought through was the underwear. Yes, I had a special strapless bra, but nothing as far as panties. I don't think this would happen to most brides who have fittings -- but I wanted to share anyway, it's funny for me to think back on. My dress was so poofy it didn't matter that I was wearing red boyshorts underneath!

I could hijack this post with all the juicy details of my (very very perfect!) day, but I'll leave you with some teasers that you should remember:

    • If you write a timeline...hand it out to people.  Just you knowing...doesn't help.
    • If there are little details, have them delegated on paper beforehand. Like programs and bubbles on the seats.
    • Involve your hubby!  You'll forget something that he will remember.
    • If you're having a DW, keep everything packed in one spot and arrive in plenty of time to pull it ALL out and find everything you need.  We packed it the night before, and we still had some issues.

I think that's all the stuff I forgot.  For the most part I was really on top of it!  Too bad I didn't let everyone else in on my little secrets LOL.
