My photographer said he should have our photos done by the end of the week and I definately want to order a picture to hang above the fireplace. Did any of you ladies hang a large photo in your home? Can you share your photo? We took so many great ones that I am not sure how I am going to choose so I would like to see more or less what the "norm" is. Large meaning something like 11x17 or something along those lines.
I don't think we'd ever get a huge picture, but of course I cant wait to display some pics in our casa! Probably personally wouldnt want anything bigger than maybe (this is just throwing out a guesstimate) like 18X15 or something? If thats even a picture size...
Im curious to see what others say too!
I don't know what size you mean for "large" but we have a small apartment and the biggest picture we hung was 11x17.

I want a big one. We have photos hanging all over the place, and I know the wedding pics will be great! My friend has a beautiful canvas wrap (about 20x30) that they have sitting in their bedroom on top of a dresser--it's so pretty.
I haven't yet but I"m considering it. If we had space over our fireplace I think that would be perfect but our tv is over our fireplace so that place is kind of spoken for :) If I was going to do a traditional wedding photo I think it would be this one:
I'm not a huge fan of the traditional wedding photo on the wall thing though... so I think the one I'm most likely to actually get made into a large print (or more likely canvas.. once i figure out where to put it!) is this one:

I WANT to get a picture to hang...but has anyone ever wondered if hanging a big picture of yourself is a bit narcisstic? I mean, if you walk into someone else's house and see a big wedding picture of them, no one thinks, "wow, they must really think they're pretty hot stuff..." right?
I dont have one yet, but I plan on getting one. Probably a gallery wrapped canvas in just one place. Other than that I will just do some pictures here and there, maybe on a gallery wall. I literally had zero pictures from our wedding in our house up until a few days ago when I framed three and put them on some side tables. We have some redecorating to do so its taking a while!
We have one of our Engagement Pics up. We had our wedding guests sign it.

@joy2011: lol thats kinda why i'm not as big a fan of the traditional posed wedding pic on the wall. I do think that having one nice picture up is fine though-- as long as it isn't like a whole-wall shrine! But I for some reason do feel better about a candid than posed.
Not yet, but I want to!! This is my fave photo, and I want to get like an 8x12 or something.
Yup, we will! Though, IF we can get the one photo we want by "borrowing" some of a friend's actors, it'll be an engagement photo that will go up on the wall, instead! LOL! But I know we'll have at least one 'family' photo (me, my FI, and our three kids) that will be going up, too. :) Probably one of us by ourselves and at least one with our three kids together.
Of course, those are also photos we don't have already that I really WANT to have and since the wedding is a great time to do it..... why not?
I don't have a pic of our wall - but we did a photo collage that looks simailar to this set up of nothing but our wedding photos. I LOVE it, plus you don't have to pick just one that you want to display, since you can display several!
I have an arragenment of several in one part of the house and we ordered one on canvas. It's an 11x17 and it's in our dining room ...
We do, but its in our bedroom. I think many people have them in public areas when they're first married, but they end up being hung somewhere else over time.

@AnnieAAA: Just saw something like this at our friends' house and I love it! They got prints of a bunch of their black and white wedding photos and they're hanging in a pattern like that in frames in their entryway.
We got this from Red Envelope. I wanted to also include pics of our bridal party and families rather than just a picture of us. It's hanging in the entryway at our house. (This is the photo from the website.. those aren't my pics)
Not yet, but we will :) There is a nice pic of us in a park, but it's primarily the park and we are really far away, DH is holding my train walking behind me. I think I'll frame that one as our large picture, then I am going to frame smaller pictures of DH with his groomsmen and me with my bridesmaids for our own personal spaces.
My parents had a 16 X 20 of their traditional wedding photo hanging in their house forever. I remember always wanting one so we will be doing a canvas print, not sure on the size yet.
YES! I want a large frame that will hold everything from our engagement picture to our family picture to our picture with our grandkids
My photo package comes with a 16 x 20 canvas print. We're kind of weirded out about hanging it since we live in a little 1 bedroom! I like the idea of having a photo of the whole party, or the wall with other photos. There are some good ideas here!
I love it when people display pictures of their wedding in their homes!! And pictures in general of themselves together having fun!!
My parents had no pics of their wedding day in our house they kept all the pics of that and family events in albums and they are stuffed under the bed in my old room gathering dust.
I think its really healthy to have memories displayed like that. When FI and I are married we will have pics of the big day all over the place. And when we finally stop renting I'm going to bang up a collage of pics on a wall asap! :P
I don't know where we'd hang pictures in our apt now, unless we did the bedroom. Loving all of the ideas here!
I know we get an 11*17 print in our package that we will hang. I love when people have wedding pictures hung up. But dont do it like this one friend couple we have, their entire house has HER bridal pictures everywhere. I think there is 1 picture of the two of them from their wedding day.
Our photog is gifting us with 4 large prints.... well semi-large. We have a large wall space over our couch that I haven't found anything to fit yet that wasn't $$$.. So these pics will go there.
They'll be 8x12 matted in 16x20 frames

We will most likely get a big canvas wrap 16X20 of one of our engagement photos.
For the wedding, I love this collage idea with the multiple frames, that way we can do individual shots, just us shots, and group shots :) Thanks for the idea!!
This is the picture we decided on. It is a 16x20 I think. Thank you to all of the bees who helped me pick! We are in the process of buying our first home now. Once we move in, I will have it professionaly framed. Not sure if I will hang it in the bedroom, above the fireplace or in the foyer.
Our very gracious photographer gave us a 16x20 canvas wrapped picture from our wedding. At first, I felt a little on the narcissistic side hanging it over our fireplace. I love it now because we’ve coupled it with other framed pictures.
resurrecting this thread. . .I want to get a large canvas print. . .i am thinking of this one. . .any feedback? i am nervous I won't like it once it's super huge!
We don't. We are going to frame an 11 x 14 print I made in the darkroom, I took our engagement shots. They are amazing, but it was LOT of running! We don't have any up now, but we are moving Sept. 30th, and our new place certainly will.
We are, I ordered a 16X20 of one of the pictures from our wedding not sure where I am going to hang it but yea most def getting a big picture
