That’s exactly what we’re doing in May! My mom is professional photographer so that is really the only reason why I will have pro pics! Otherwise friends pics are just fine! We’re going to a nice dinner afterwards as well.

We knew we were doing it for mostly administrative reasons. We went in with the world’s lowest expectations (knowing we’d be doing the big one down the road), some fancy outfits, a friend to take pics, and haven’t regretted a thing. He had an interview for a job he just landed right after then we popped up to Philadelphia for a couple days for a “honeymoon.” I wouldn’t change a thing. We’re easy-going and don’t need a lot to be happy. Honestly, when I look back on it in the future I’m pretty sure this wedding will be more important to me. It was honest, it was us, it was no expectations, it was not worrying about pleasing anyone, it was stress free, it was intimate, it was quite literally perfect. While I’m looking forward to the big wedding, for me it won’t be as great because it will be busy, stressful, packed full of people who feel we need to cater to them and will cost a butt load of money. Don’t get me wrong. We’ll have a great time and probably love it. But our leap year courthouse wedding is the one I know I’ll cherish.

We had a tiny little court house wedding and it was more than just paperwork. We did sign paper work, but the JOP said a little thing about marriage and we exchanged vows and rings, it was super cute, we had our friends take pictures and went out for drinks afterward. It was fun and a necessity, We will be having the actual ‘ wedding’ in august, but people know we are allready married. Make it in to whatever you want it to be.

We talked about it, but ended up just moving our original date up.  I think courthouse weddings are super romantic, though. πŸ™‚

@zombiemonster:  Yeah it’s pretty cool having my mom as a photographer! She’s doing the big wedding too because she wouldn’t be able to sit back and let someone else do the pics. She insisted! Good luck next week at your wedding! Mine is May 15th!

I enjoyed it very much!  Like a prior poster, we went in with insanely low expectations (we too were having a later ‘real’ ceremony) and were pleasantly surprised!  The vows were short and simple but everything was there that you would hope for and they were done well.  The only thing I wish I had thought of was bringing a bouquet!  A few other ladies had them and it made me wish I’d thought of it.  πŸ™‚  I’d also say that it made the later big ceremony muuuuch more easy and relaxed since we already had the legal part done and now just wanted to celebrate with family, friends and God!
