@mylittleviolett:  Musical venue rollercoaster is the common theme of our wedding so far.  The first venue was awesome, but completely booked…. and way too expensive. Venues 2 and 3 wouldn’t cater to a small wedding like ours.  Venue 4 was awesome and we were about to sign the contract when my parents backed out of paying, so it became too expensive.  After that followed more venues than I can remember, usually too expensive or not catering to a small wedding.  I thought I’d found the ceremony site… except there are no places within a half hour where we could do the reception. So we’re on to our last place, which looks great and is within our budget.  Still we have to wait unitl the money is saved up sometime next month.  Who knows then….  I think in all we’ve considered around 30 different sites.  I’m so sick of looking at sites!

I has hoped to have my wedding and reception at a local aquarium. It would have been fun an unique and food and booze would have been cheaper – open bar because we bring our own! But the fiancé woke me up to the fact that having our wedding there would be a logistical nightmare, so we found something else. Looked at a couple of golf courses, found one that had the weekend we wanted and was within our budget so we’re golden.

My whole dream winter wedding was shot down due to everyone having to travel but when I started planning our fall wedding I had found a gorgeous barn but they were a dry facility and it had to be done by like 10 or something like that.

It worked out though because I’m in LOVE with the venue we did pick.

@mylittleviolett:  I love BBGs… so gorgeous.  We also looked at Perona, but we were told the barn was in our price range…when we got there… it was $60pp OVER our budget.

We really wanted Laurita winery, or a similar winery in the NY/NJ region.  We wound up finding Lake Valhalla Club in NJ.  So far I’m really happy with our find!

@mylittleviolett:  he said $160pp plus taxes and grat.  And the ceremony space was diiiirectly on the road.  like, the seats would be inches away.

@mylittleviolett:  Kind of-  there was a make-shift pathway in front of the barn- they were finishing up rennovations – that was just a muddy mess.  He said the ceremony would be set back much further down towards the road than in pictures because they were thinking about putting in a walkway.  This was this past February or March?  Was there one there when you got married?
