When you were younger, did you ever think of your wedding and say “I will have that at my wedding one day” or am I the only one that was obsessed since birth over weddings? Are there any details you HAD to have and now think are kind of silly? Mis was, the aisle runner HAD to fade from dark pink to light and I new exactly what cake I wanted – all white with “love” words written all over it in white… Anyone else?

No way. I was never the type to think about marrying someone until I found the person I wanted to marry….
I think it’s easier this way since you don’t have to convince someone else of a bunch of things. I read a post on here once where the girl had dreamed since a child (don’t get it) of having a bright pink wedding and her FI said no way, lol. Of course I don’t blame him, most guys don’t want to get dressed up and be surrounded by pink on their wedding day 😛 But yeah, going into it without your own ideas first makes it easier to come up with a wedding that symbolises both the bride and groom, I think.

I didn’t dream about the wedding as much as I dreamed about the guy I wanted to marry. I wanted to be married for a loong time but I forgot to dream about the wedding, lol.

Does it count being a teenager now and thinking “I will have this at my wedding”? LOL I never really thought about what I wanted at the wedding until I started planning though.

I always had a notion that I wanted a very small wedding in Ireland and the reception at an authentic Irish pub. Alas as I got older I realized how freakin expensive that would be to fly everyone over. Still, maybe someday my husband and I will go!

I knew I liked outdoor weddings, and thought they were pretty, and that was it.
I didn’t do any sort of planning until after I was engaged. I just never really thought about it till then 🙂

Oh yea. I was one of those little girls who dreamt of her wedding since Barbie’s. Back then my dream dress had shoulder pads and I wanted roses everywhere. Now I hate roses and you couldn’t pay me to wear shoulder pads.
I’ve always been obsessed with weddings and now that I’m actually getting married, the obsession is even deeper.

I used to draw diagrams, make lists of the people I would want in the wedding, who i was marrying, drew what my dress looked like, everything…..
Needless to say, I wish I had the same outlook now, now it’s a pain in the ass and everyone drives me nuts and I just want to elope! But, I know it’ll turn out nice!

Nope. I didn’t even think about marriage until I turned 22, which actually was what made me break up with the person I was dating since marriage wasn’t something I wanted with them.

I actually saw a wedding by the lake near my parents house when I was a kid, and I said, “I’m going to get married here some day.”
I thought people would ignore it (hello, I was eight), but ever since, it’s been sort of understood in my family that I would be getting married by the lake. My sister even told FI that when we were dating, to make sure he knew and was okay with it, haha. When he proposed, my mom was like “okay, when are you coming home so we can meet with the event planner and set the date?”
Lucky I still like the spot! It really is special to me though, and I’ve brought FI up there so many times that he loves it too.

I was OBSESSED with my mom’s 1960’s Wedding Barbie’s dress! (Could you follow that? My mom kept all her Barbies for me to play with and I absolutely loved the wedding Barbie.) My whole life I thought I would have a replica made for my own wedding dress. I didn’t, but the dress I ended up wearing was kind of similar in
