We had some heirlooms appraised and they had to be left 🙁

2 weeks seems long though… Ours took 1 week tops

Two weeks seems long, but you will definitely need to leave the jewelry there to be appraised. I’ve never heard of anywhere that does it on the spot.

My husband had almost all of my jewelry re-appraised this winter.  They had the jewelry for several weeks.  However, he had 15 – 20 pieces in the shop.

When ive had jewelry appraised, we have stood there as the jeweler does it. Same with my family and friends.I would call around. Jewelers here do t on spot, but than write the appraisal and mail it in a week or two… but none keep the rings here.

@ms_margarita:  my jewelry has always been appraised on the spot. They tell me it will take 30 minutes and ask if I’m staying or coming back. I don’t know why they would need it for two weeks unless they have to send it out. I would just go to a different jewelry store.
