Have any of you ladies had trouble getting pregnant after you had an IUD?
Did you have to wait to start trying after your IUD was removed?
How long did it take to get pregnant?
My hubby and I made an appointment to have my IUD taken out next month on the 10th.
I have two kids 13 & 10 so I am pretty much starting over 🙂
We are both so excited and nervous at the same time.

What kind of IUD do you have? I had a copper one and my cycle was completely normal while it was in and after it was removed. No trouble getting pregnant afterwards – have a fab 3 month old son now.

I had the Mirena placed 6 years ago after birth of my child. But I had trouble adapting to the Mirena (bad bad cramps) so I got it removed after a year of consistent monthly cramps. I too was curious if there was problems women experienceed after removal. But I figure if there was any damage done by the device it would have healed after 5 years. I do get recurrent bacterial infections and thought there might be a correlation between the device and infections because I never got them before this device was implanted. We will TTC in the next few months, hoping all goes well but there is a little voice in my head about previously having that Mirena in…even though that was 5 years ago. Good luck…my child will be 7 when we TTC so I understand both the excitement and anxiety.

My best friend had the Mirena, got it out, then got pregnant within 6 months. She wasn’t “scheduling” her pregnancy, it just happened pretty quickly and easily. For what that’s worth!

I had my Mirena removed in April after 4.5 years, charted for 3 months, and got pregnant on our first cycle TTC in July. My best friend had hers removed in February after 2 years and was pregnant again in April. No issues here!

I had Mirena almost four years. I had it taken out last January, and got a period 31 days later which is totally normal for me but I can’t say for sure if I ovulated that month because I had read a lot of women get a period a week or so later. So I didn’t start charting until I got a period. I did ovulate right after that. We didn’t TTC until December though, but we got a BFP on the second try in January!
FWIW I’d I’d not have periods on Mirena, but would spot once or twice a year.

I had Mirena and had no trouble conceiving after I got it out. It took awhile to get a full regular period after I got it out – a couple of months – but I hadn’t had any periods on it. I got pregnant the month after my first period. I had 2 Mirenas over 8 years.
