We’re sending our invites out this week! I’ve read a couple things about having them hand canceled because they look nicer and also because they are less likely to get damged. Ours are ordinary envelopes with no outside details that will get ruined and I guess I’ve never noticed whether an envelope has the nice hand canceling stamp or the machine stamp.
Do you think it’s worth it to do this or is it okay to just throw them in the mailbox?

@MrsBeck: They’ll still ultimately end up going through a machine. It’s just going to bypass the one that marks the stamp so it’s not able to be used again.
That said, I’d probably not bother with it and stick them in the mail.
ETA: I’d probably not even notice if I got a letter hand samped anyway.

I couldn’t be bothered. My envelopes were normal, not heavy or bumpy. So we just stuck them in the box inside the post office. All arrived at their destinations in one piece.
Also, I saw a couple of them, the postmark looked fine.

Just throw them in the mailbox. I guarantee you are the only person who will care about how they arrive.

Thanks bees! I figured most guests wouldn’t care- looks like I’ll just throw them in the mailbox tomorrow!
