Did you hold hands with your SO during your whole ceremony? I’m watching The Bachelor wedding, and they didn’t hold hands for the whole first half of their ceremony. DH and I held hands during the whole ceremony, in fact my DH squeezed my hands so tight they started to hurt! Haha

@Cory_loves_this_girl: Pretty much the whole time…think it would look awkard if you didn’t.

Our officiant actually recommended we hold hands the entire time because people tend to not know what to do with their hands during the ceremony. Looking back, I am grateful for this advice. I was sooooo nervous during our ceremony and having DH holding and squeezing my hands thoughout helped a lot. 🙂

@Cory_loves_this_girl: I was watching too and had the same exact thought! They were standing really far apart too! DH and I were holding hands as soon as I made it down the aisle!
also, what was up with that long commercial break right in the middle of the ceremony?!

@Cory_loves_this_girl: No married yet. I didnt even think of this, but now that you mention it… I am now writing myself a note, not to forget to hold hands!!!
I think some people just get nervous or feel like they need to be more conservative/arent the hand holding-PDA type. I could see FI and I both getting caught in the moment and forgeting to hold hands! The two of us are more “awkwardly stare at each other” type when in front of others but snuggly when we are alone.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: yes we held hands for most of the ceremony (unless i was fixing my veil or dress lol

He was gripping my hands the entire time. Couldn’t have let go if I tried! I think it was his way of trying to focus and not get antsy- he was staring at me like his life depended on it too!

We held hands for the a lot of it… But since we officiated for ourselves we had to face the audience at times.

@LaceyBride1123: Yeah, it looked really unnatural how far apart they were, and you could tell they didn’t know what to do with their hands.
That commercial break was awful. They must have been praying silently for a LONG time!

We actually HAVE to hold hands during the wedding ceremony. We hold candles in the very beginning then our koumbaro and koumbara hold the handles and we joing right hands for the rest of the ceremony (His right hand crosses in front of his body to hold my right hand) and we will hold hands like that for the remainder of the ceremony and for our walk.
I’ll admit that holding hands may be tricky for us during the ceremony. FI is 6’6 and I am 5’5…so if we hold hands hes reaching down a little and I am reaching up, our hands dont hold at natural and comfortable levels LOL

Yep, the whole time! I wasn’t sure what we should do but my now-husband insisted on it that morning, adorably. It was really nice and calming 🙂
