We were both virgins before our wedding night. 🙂 Nothing happened instead except passionate kissing! And now we’ve been married a year and are incredibly happy and in love. I don’t really know what all the fuss is about, honestly. Sex is fun but there are more important things in life.

We both were celibate before we met and have continued. We will remain until the wedding night.

Hell no. We’re LDR, so I’m sure we’ll get down to business the night before the wedding, the morning of the wedding… we go way too long in between visits as it is. Even if we weren’t LDR I don’t see the point in abstaining.

@niasg1:  Didn’t you just post on the poll “how old were you when you lost your virginity” that you were 15 and the guy was 18? Doesn’t seem celibate to me!

We’re thinking about making a mutual effort to abstain before the wedding just to make the wedding night extra special since we’ve obviously partaken before (lived together for almost three years).

We haven’t decided if it’s worth it or not though.

@kendra389:  Youcan choose to be celibate after you’ve already had sex.

To answer the original question, we didn’t intentionally hold out on having sex, but that week was so incredibly n busy for us that I can’t remember when we had sex before the wedding now lol.

I doubt we will any more than usual. We’ve been together for like 12 years so we’re not getting down every night anyway 😉

@kendra389:  I am 48 my dear losing your viginity at 15 and leaving a long term relationship of 12 years and deciding to be celibate after that relationship ended is how I can say that I have been celibate now for 5 years.

Not particularly.  We may not have done it for a few days before the wedding just because we were busy/had a house full of people, but there was no agreement that we were purposely not having sex.

@niasg1:  Ohh okay, I’m sorry if I came across as rude! I had just come from the other poll, and I was confused! Plus I was unaware of your age…and know a lot of young women who claim to be celibate when they’re really not!

@kendra389:  Your apology is accepted….I am too old and too grown to care what others think.. After I ended the relationship I wanted to take sex out of the equation and really get with myself and decided what I needed and wanted in my life.

The time I used to make me a better person only made me open to finding my now FI. I am glad that we didnt have sex to interfere with us getting to know each and discovered that we have so many things in common that sex is extra.

We decided that since we both are celibate that we should just wait until we get married.

I plan on staying at my moms house (9 blocks away) for the week of the wedding or at least 3-5 days before. I like it when we miss each other.

Yeah, cut him off about 10 days before the wedding. Actually, HE cut ME off. His idea- not mine! And then he sorely regretted the suggestion hahaha.

I suggested this idea to my FI and he was having none of it. We’ll see if I can stay strong when my wedding date comes. My ideal would be to abstain for 2 weeks. We already live together and “act married” so it’s nice to have something different to look forward to!
