Did you leave your veil on for your first dance/reception?

We're getting married this weekend(!) and I'm wearing a fingertip-length veil. I love the look of the veil and I'd like to wear it for as many pictures as possible because, after all, when else will I ever get to wear a veil? I'm just wondering if it will get in the way too much during the reception and dancing and if it will get pulled on accidentally and ruin my hair.

Did you wear your veil to your reception or during your first dance? Or did you take it off after photos?

I wore my veil through my first and father daughter dance and then when we sat down to dinner I took it off. I LOVE the look of the veil and wish I had worn it through the entire reception, but the problem was that it kept getting pulled everytime someone had their arm around me or was hugging me.

I took mine off after cocktail hour. I loved my veil and didn't want to take it off but everytime someone hugged me they tugged on my veil (and my head). If your DH and dad know to be careful you can wear it for dances but after that it'll probably be a hassle.

I agree with PPs.  I would take it off sooner rather than later.

I would just play it by air. I loved my veil and didn't want to take it off so I wore it for the first few dances and cake cutting and then when everyone started dancing it started to bother me so I just took it off then. Mine was bustled so I didn't find anyone pulling on it but I had beads on the back of my dress and my veil and when I was dancing (fast songs) my veil kept sticking to the back of my dress. I took 2sec for it to be removed.

That's what I was thinking, that people would pull on it if they hug me or put their arm around me. I guess it does take about 2 seconds to take out! I think I'll try to leave it on as long as I can so it's in the first dance pictures, but maybe take it off later in the evening if it starts to bother me.

I took it off once we got to the reception. I had it for our pictures but, as it was cathedral length, I didn't want to try to dance in it for fear of stepping on it.

Thanks for tips Bee's I am afraid it will weigh a ton and pull on my hair.  If anyone has any pics of them bustling the veil that would greatly help.
