I just made a sign that said "Cards" and attached it with ribbon to the front.
Yeah, with other birdcages I have seen, I have just seen a sign that says card either, say, on the door of the birdcage itself, or right next to it. Because most ppl probably wouldn't know a birdcage is meant for cards, lol!
I agree with the above poster. Also, maybe you can use some "dummy" cards so people know where cards are supposed to go. I'm doing this sort of thing with my guest book corkboard
I made a sign for my bird cage, but it got misplaced. The guests all knew to put the cards in there anyway, so I guess you don't need one.

We made a small sign that said, Please Sign Our Guestbook because after a few drinks, you can't assume anything. We actually displayed postcards near a vintage suitcase as a our guest book. It was a huge hit!

Planning on having the box say "cards" across part of it. Not sure whether I should put a similar sign saying "gifts" on the gift table tho. My reasoning is a bit pathetic tho- I'm afraid people will feel sorry for me if I have an obvious gift table with no gifts on it. No one can tell if there are cards in my card box! It's ridiculous because if there are no gifts at the wedding that's a good thing, one less thing to worry about, and lord knows it doesn't mean no one's gotten us any gifts. But I swear I'll be worried about it. Gah.

I made small signs on stardream cardstock that said "Cardbox" and "Guestbook" - it was simple but it worked!

We have a very pretty birdcage to use as a card box at the reception. But I feel it needs a sign of some sort. so people know where to put the cards.. But I have no idea what to put on the sign????? Without saying Place your cards and cash here!! hahaha
