@glitternails:  I just took of the veil myself  right before the reception. It made a couple hairs out of place but really you wouldnt be able to tell unless you looked up super close.

nope, it was fine! Pulled it right out with no trouble. Tell your hairdresser you’ll be wearing one and she will arrange your hair accordingly 🙂

I’ve seen veils with blingy combs, looks great! I had my MOH take out my veil and you couldn’t tell. Have someone smooth out the area and maybe have hairspray on hand just in case.

A small piece of my hair did come out but I had a messy bun type deal so it looked fine.

@glitternails:I had one of my bm’s take it out for me after formal pics were done… then I put on my crystal headband!

My hair was half up half down, and my half up part started falling out because I took my veil out. It looked terrible. That’s one of the few things I regret about my wedding. I would post a pic of what it ended up looking like, but I’m on my phone. Be careful about taking your veil out- make sure whoever helps you knows what she’s doing.

@glitternails:  I did take it out myself though. I didn’t really like my hair lady. I don’t think she really did that great of a job to begin with. I think it would have turned out better if the hair lady had taken my MOH or a BM aside to actually show her how to take the veil out. But she didn’t. Maybe you could make sure someone is assigned that responsibility and knows exactly how to take it out (which bobby pins to take out and which to leave in- maybe do them in a different color pin or something). That might help prevent that situation.

I told my hairdresser I wanted the veil to come out after the ceremony so she didn’t make it too integral and it was fine. My sister just took it right out in a couple of seconds and my hair didn’t look messed up at all.

I definitely recommend wearing a veil, by the way, those things are GREAT and super flattering.

I had a half up do and took my veil out – My bridesmaid was careful and it came out without messing up my do – the only issue was the comb from the veil left indents in my hair. Luckily, someone had a backcombing brush and hairspray to fix it.

Honestly – I think with an updo it should be no problem. If the veil slides in no problem, it should come out just as easy. It’s your only chance to wear a veil so I would.
