We joined cocktail hour after 15 min and were later introduced at the reception. We wanted to experience as much of the wedding fun as possible!

Absolutely – we took the necessary family photos quickly after the ceremony and joined cocktail hour about 20 minutes in.  We went back to our getting ready space as guests began going to their tables and were introduced right before dinner started.  There was no way I was going to miss any more of the evening than I had to after all that planning!

Very, VERY sadly, no.  We missed the ENTIRE cocktail hour and a LOT of the reception taking pictures. (I had it all planned out to have almost all of the pics taken before the ceremony, but my plans for that were completely derailed after I ran late due to heavy traffic and delays at the salon, and other logistical issues that resulted in my not being ready until 5 p.m. instead of 3:30 p,m. as I had planned.) I was competely devastated and spent most of my honeymoon crying about this and was literally depressed for nine months after my wedding because of it. Our wedding was beautiful, and all of our guests raved that they had a marvelous time, and raved about the food and the venue, and I felt as if I did not even attend my own wedding. I was absolutely CRUSHED that we did not get to even greet most of our guests or have an opportunity to introduce each other to our out-of-town friends and family who had not yet met our SOs. The only time we danced was our first dance and the dances we each had with our parents (him with his mother, me with my father.) By the time we came back in from taking family pics after dinner, the reception was technically over and only a small number of guests remained to watch us dance our last dance.

No, I wanted to – especially after we(I) spent a lot of time trying to pick the appetizers. I never got a bite of one! My BMs sneaked off during pics to grab some though, lol, the GMs were pissed cause they hadn’t thought of doing that.

We ended up doing pics the whole time.

No way! We’re using the cocktail hour to take LOTS of pictures and take a breather in an adjoining room with the cocktail hour appetizers and the bridal party, going over our entrance dance moves one more time. We’re having a grand entrance and mingling during cocktail would just diffuse that. especially since we’re having our first dance after we enter.

I’m planning to.  Like someone else said I’m not trying to miss anything
