I have ideas but I’m not set on them.

We only ever had a girl’s name chosen.  We were struggling with boy’s names, so we were happy when we found out she was a girl via ultrasound.  (Thankfully, it was accurate). 🙂

I’m not pregnant yet but we’ve chosen names already. I doubt we will change our minds.

All three of my boy’s first names were given after they were born. We had ideas on what we were going to name them, but it all changed after they came into the world. We felt like we needed to meet ’em before we gave them a name.

We also gave them middle names after family/close friend.

My youngest child we named after the events during my labor which I think is pretty cool.

Interested to see the results! I’ve been wondering if I would get tempted to change my mind after seeing baby. I think we’ll go into it with a narrowed down list of 3-4 for each gender (uhm… that is if we can think of any other boy names haha) and pick once baby is born but I can’t see myself 100% picking a name before the birth.

If DS had been Dirty Delete we would have ended up using one of the names discussed pre-pregnancy, but we chose E’s name pretty late in the pregnancy.

I’m not pregnant, nor do I plan to be for a long time. But we’ve already got a boy’s name chosen. We have for quite a while too, before we were engaged. It’s funny sometimes we talk about our nonexistant child we call him by this full name.

Pre-pregnancy I kept a mental running list of names I liked, and now at 19 weeks, that’s still about as far as I’ve gotten.  We don’t know the sex yet (find out this week!) and are waiting until then to start narrowing it down to a short list of names we both like.  It may be awhile before we actually settle on a name – my Darling Husband has vetoed all of my top picks for both genders – but I would like to decide before birth!  I like the idea of being able to call the baby by his/her name before birth.

We had our names picked out, but just jokingly; or so we thought…

Then when we found out she was a girl, we started jokingly referring to her as Sophie, the name we had picked prepregnancy, now that’s her name. We can’t even dream of changing it, it’s already a part of who she is (:

@ohulani:  You gotta tell us the events and the name!

if we have kids, we have the names picked out. If Future Sister-In-Law has a baby before us and uses the name, we switch arround the middle and first name. Easy Peasy!

For example : John Walsh Flower if a Boy, Jane Welsh Flower if a Girl.

If she uses the picked name, we go with Walsh John Flower or Welsh Jane Flower

I have a list of eight for each sex that I am going to have my husband choose from. I would be shocked if we can’t come to an agreement on one of those and stick with it. I realize this sounds a little tyrannical, but I know what kinds of names my husband likes and hates and he trusts my judgment to narrow down the thousands (millions?) of options out there.

I had my daughter’s name picked out since I was 15 years old (Shawnee). My then-husband and I disagreed about the choice of a boy’s name. It didn’t matter as I knew I was having a girl!
