Well..I was with him when he bought my engagement ring.  But I had to wait until he actually proposed.

Yes!

1. Freaking out and closing down the computer screens when I came into the office.

2. Pretending to propose with a ratchet every day

and the best one

3. Left the recipet in his pants when I was doing laundry >.<

Saving money is usually the biggest sign. I saw 6K in his account back in January so I knew he was saving.

He came home Friday with a goofy smile and said “I want shopping today”

“for what?” – me

“a ring” – him

“why are you telling me? you always wanted it to be a secret” – me

“ya but I actually found one I liked so I’m excited!” – him

So I think its safe to say he is preparing. lol. Sounds like he is definitely getting ready. good luck with the last bit of waiting!

Not really. The day of he bought me a nice bottle of wine & made me dinner, but he does that all the time so I never would have guessed really. I was completely shocked by the proposal.

He gave me lots of clues that he was thinking about it a lot.  He would play with the diamond ring he bought for me as a Christmas gift and I wore it on my right hand but I’d notice him all the sudden holding my hand and making an effort to  play with it and twist it.  I remember thinking why my ring is suddenly catching his attention so much.  He also told me he visioned us getting married in Hawaii (which we did).  But LOL I am so glad I kept my cool though because he didn’t finally make a move until over a year later.  The reason why it took so long was because he was waiting on some financial things to line up and I have to admit his planning was great!  Financially he planned it just right, so glad he did it the way he did (such a smart man!).  Everything went perfect!

He had talked about it for years, but I had no idea when he would actually propose. I thought it would be on our anniversary, but it was a few weeks before.

Nothing from his behavior. I accidentally found out that he bought a ring so I guessed that it might happen on vacation, but otherwise I would never have guessed that a proposal was coming. And even on the day it happened, I totally wasn’t expecting it.

Guys can be sneaky. Mine straight up lied to about where he was going when he went to talk to my dad (and he never lies to me) because he knew if he didn’t cover his tracks I would figure out something was going on.

Like smitten248, my guy paid more attention to my other rings. we had ring shopped 2 months before the proposal so I was anticipating it too. That was just one little clue it was getting close. I knew the day he ordered because he said when you come home if I’m in the bedroom with the door closed, do NOT come in. haha. Then when he came out he was snapping his wallet shut. Then the day of I had no clue until I showed up at what was supposed to be an office party at a banquet room at a B&B and there was absolutely nobody else there but him and a romantic dinner. That was my only obvious clue during the whole thing. Then I knew what was coming after dessert. FI says he’s surprised that I ate as much as I did, even though I was so excited about the new jewelry ciming my way. What can I say, it was a good meal. Best of luck! Try not to look too hard for signs, you know it’s coming so try to keep that little element of surprise.

We went ring shopping together and he proposed 5 months later. I was expecting it more like a year later and I was so surprised!! I didn’t notice anything weird or different. Even looking back, I can’t think of any clues or anything that could have clued me in to when he was going to propose. He said he thinks it’s because he was so ready and not that nervous, mostly just excited and he knew I’d say yes Kiss

Not at all. He was actually being so secretive and distant, I was convinced he was going to break up with me. We looked at rings months earlier, but then he said nothing about it and that he wanted to be married “5-7 years down the road”. When he proposed, one of the first things out of my mouth was “I’m so glad we’re not breaking up” hahaha

He actually had me convinced it was going to be around Christmas and proposed in October.

Mine gave me a lot of clues e.g. when I went to a friend’s hen party he asked what would I do for mine.

And then he started proposing in his sleep, which was a big hint!
