I wouldn't by the time you need the convertible laws can change and you won't be able to use it. They have been changing pretty fast recently
I did but we only got the infant one.. keep in mind if you get the convertible but not the infant, you could always exchange since you need the infant one first.

I'm thinking of registering for both simply for the completion discount factor.. but I'm worried someone may buy the convertible and not the infant seat and I'd rather for sure have the infant seat. Or it might confuse someone if I have both on my registry?
