Did you regret inviting extended family to your wedding?

    We invited extended family that neither of us may have seen for years. For our families, that’s what wedding are FOR (well, except, you know, to ge married). A lot of our extended families only see one another at weddings and funerals. Keep in mind this is your FI’s wedding, too, and I don’t think it’s fair to deny him what he wants because it doesn’t fit your vision. You either need to allow him his guest list (if cost isn’t the issue) or come to a compromise in the middle somewhere. It is very common for families here to invite everyone, whether they’ve seen them in ages or not, and I can understand him and his family being dismayed at not being “allowed” to have people they expected would be there.
