Did You Regret Your Wedding Party Choice? Why?

I have not regretted anyone I picked, a lot of people told me I picked everyone too quickly and that I might change my mind but to me it was really “no brainer” who I was picking. I have three cousins and my two best friends. I have had no issues with them at all. I think if I was more demanding or expected more I would but all I asked was for them to get their dresses on time and show up on the day! I’ve taken care of pretty much everything else on my own. Though I know they’re planning something for a shower and a bachelorette, I am not at all picky about that and I know them well enough to know I will love whatever they do for me.

No, I love our bridal party!

With that said though….I knew that if anyone in the party was going to be a source of drama whatsoever that it would have been two of my BMs (one sister, one friend). And of course those are the only two who have given me any grief whatsoever, lol. Luckily nothing too crazy, all water off a duck’s back, they just have “my way or the highway” type of personalities. To know them is to love them!!

Not at all!  I picked my sister, SIL and two best friends, and couldn’t be happier about my choices.  I did hum and haa about not choosing my BFF from highschool, as we had once told each other we would have each other as BMs, but considering the wedding and bachelorette party were the only times in the past year I’ve seen her, plus the fact that she has flaked on plans with me twice in the past couple months, I’m not sorry.

@CarterLove:  i am doing the exact same thing.  too many horror stories (mostly on weddingbee lol) so i am asking just my sister and FI’s brother.  plus, i find pictures of a big bridal party to be annoying.

So far, so good. My expectations are realistic about bridesmaids and I read enough horror stories on here to wait a while after engagement to pick. That was the BEST advice I ever got.

Well I have a huge ass bridal party and each and everyone of them has been there for me and sooo supportive. They are waitign on me for the quote of their dress to give me the down payment. Each girl picked a dress out of the options I gave them, they are all wearing different dresses I feel that all those girls in the same dress would work my nerve. They get to be themselves but still look like a unit. No screams, drama hair pulling even when a few girls wanted the same dress they brushed it off and picked other options. They are great and have no regrets.

Not at all! I had 6 girls which some consider alot but they were all wonderful. All of them are very close to me so there were no issues which I was super thankful for. My DH on the other hand said he regrets a few of the people he chose lol

@CarterLove:  Haha is this a spinoff of my thread? In any case, YES. Yes is the answer to your question, sadly.

I wish I didn’t have a bridal party…..

Two of my bridesmaids were really difficult during the whole wedding process.  It has impacted our friendship post wedding.

I also could have done without the groomsmen.  Their wives were annoying and made the men late to pictures……..

I absolutely do not regret my choices.

My MOH was my only sibling, my younger sister.  We’re only 15 months apart, and she’s one of my best friends.

I had two BMs – One was my best friend from my hometown that I even lived with for 2 months before moving to another province.  My parents had to move early, so I stayed there so I could spend one last summer with my friends.

My other BM was a newer friend, but we clicked instantly and I’m planning her wedding now for her 🙂

I was a very easygoing bride too.  I told my girls to pick any black dress they wanted to wear.  I didn’t care about the style, fabric, etc, as long as it was knee length.  They also got to wear black shoes of their choosing.  Turned out great!

I love each and every girl picked, my only regret is that I only got 1 moh and 3 bridesmaids. I had 2 more I would have liked to ask but FI wanted to keep our bridal party small and also if I had included them we would have uneven numbers.

I asked those 2 to be hostesses though and they seem happy about it, so I still found a way to include them.

All my girls so far have been sweet and helpful, I’m praying it stays that way but I don’t foresee that changing. We are a pretty easy going drama free group in general.

@CarterLove:   I’m having a Best Woman and I am endlessly happy with the choice.  No bridesmaids.  🙂   FI has a Best Man and two ushers.

No, I had two Matrons of Honor, and it was perfect. We’ve known each other for over 20 years. I could have added someone else to the bridal party (DH had 3 guys, plus an usher), but I thought it was best to go with my two obvious choices- if I had to debate about someone, they shouldn’t be in the bridal party.
