I voted yes, but it wasn’t the first thing that came out of my mouth. First I screamed, then I said yes!

@Carolsays:  I’d already been thinking about it so I knew if he asked I’d say yes.  I was kind of ashamed to be a tiny bit dissapointed when he showed me the box that was my Christmas present and it was far too large to be an engagement ring.  The coffee machine currently sitting in our kitchen was a fakeout gift 🙂  It’s a pretty good coffee maker too.

I can totally understand needing some time to think if the proposal isn’t anticipated at all.  It’s a huge decision!

I think I said “Are you serious??” about ten times before I actually said yes but I didn’t have to think about it at all, I knew I wanted to marry him!

Well, technically the first words out of my mouth were “You f*cker”.

But I did say yes after that.

I can’t even remember what I actually said, but there was some kind of yes in there somewhere!

Lol, I said “Yes”… BEFORE he even asked !!

Honestly, the Proposal wasn’t a surprise out of the blue (but it was a surprise all the same, as to WHEN and WHERE)

We had exchanged LIFE PLANS thru our entire dating phase, so we were always on the same page.

It was just a matter of time til he actually said the words…

I did say “Really ?” in the moment, as I was a bit caught off guard (there was no ring)

Lol, but I didn’t hesitate to get myself to a jewellery store the next day to begin looking.

    Hope this helps,

PS… I VOTED that WE DIDN’T HAVE A TRADITIONAL PROPOSAL

For the record, tho I have to wonder HOW “traditional” the Hollywood Proposals are when they say statistically now they aren’t the norm.  Most couples just talk / decide to get married (like we did) and there is no BIG QUESTION – Bended Knee – or perhaps even a Ring in sight.  If you hang out on WBee long enough, you’ll clearly see that there is less and less of the “Hollywood” versions as more couples delay marriage for education & career, date longer, live together, buy houses, raise kids etc… BEFORE they marry.

I started crying a lot and smiling as soon as he pulled out the ring, haha. A guy at the table next to us in the restaurant said “Well, did she say yes?!” and my FI was like “Babe, you gotta give me an answer!” Lol… of course I said yes 🙂

@jazzy14:  +1.  I said “Are you serious?!” about five times, until he asked “So is that a yes??”

But we’d been together for over 10 years and already were committed life partners… not much to deliberate there.

I forgot to say yes because he scared the sweet bejeezus out of me by popping out of a closet and asking me to marry him. I took the ring though right away though, so… I guess I said yes immediately?

Absolutely. I told him I’d marry him every day of my life.
