I sent my photographer many photos of some things I liked :) If yours is going through a company that might be a little odd, but I see no reason why you wouldn't want to share photos of things you like! It's important for the photographer to know what sort of photos you want!
I did, but I don't think she copied the style very well, which was fine because her own style was impressive enough! I was very happy with my pictures!
.I think any photographer would be happy to see examples of photos you like. He or she won't "copy" them (unless you specifically say it's a pose that you like), but it always gives a good idea of what style you're looking for. :)

I did, just to give her an idea of how creative I wanted her to be. She asked for some direction since she can do all kinds of photography. But that's why I picked her. She sent me back an email saying how neat all the shots were I sent her and how excited she was. Some were from her own portfolio, but one specifically i found was of a couple dancing that i just loved. But honestly i didn't need to do that b/c now that i know my photographer i know her style better. I have since my e-pictures found a few really really cute pictures that I plan on replicating for our wedding. One is of a couple making a heart with their hands together...tough to explain but it was ADORABLE.
You bet! I am wearing two dresses, one for the ceremony and a boho long dress for afterwards and I wanted him to be prepared for his unusual subject as I am not a gorgeous 20 something bride. My h2b and I will be 50 when we get married!
I do!!!!! My photographer works out of 3 states, I have a really good email situation with him going on. I send him links and also different pictures that I love.
I haven't yet, but I am saving pics on my computer for this exact reason. You are paying them so it's only right to let them know what you like! A picture is worth a thousand words.
The photos I am choosing are very similar in style to my photographer's style (Which is why we hired her) but I liked some poses, different framing, etc.
We did, and I'm really hoping it pays off. I also sent her a written note to go along with them to explain what we like about them and what our style was. It made the wedding day itself run so smoothly. She had actually remembered most of the photos and was trying to re-create them for us! We're still waiting to get our photos back, but I can tell it really helped her to understand what kind of couple we are and what our expectations were from our photos.

I was wondering did you send inspiration photos to your photographer? I found these really awesome photos that I loved. Plus I really want her to get an idea about what we like and want. We are really non traditional. We want fun different pictures. What do you think?
