The use of alcohol is usually how most babies are concieved.Atleast for the people I know.

I don’t drink, nor am TTC but you should add a poll if you want more answers 😉

Yes, absolutely. Sometimes I slowed it down as we got closer to the end of the TWW, but I definitely enjoyed more than a few beers, glasses of wine, and cocktails while TTC and now that I’m pregnant I’m glad I did, because I miss it so much!

Not TTC yet, but I would still drink until I knew for sure I was pregnant. That being said, I have maybe 1-2 glasses of red wine maybe twice a week. I wouldn’t go out and get hammered if I was possibly pregnant.

I’m not a big drinker anyway – glass of wine or a cocktail or two with dinner once a week or so. But yes, I was a drink until it’s pink person. And like @kate02121:  said, I’m glad I did because I do miss a nice gin and tonic 🙁

I did not drink during the TWW, but did between AF and ovulation. It only took two cycles to get pregnant, though. I’ll probably do the same this pregnancy.

We are in our third cycle of TTC and so far, I’ve kept drinking. Having said that, I’m not a massive drinker anyway, so there isn’t any ‘big night out’ lifestyle to cut back on anyways. When there’s been a chice between me driving and FI driving home from an event, I’ve happily taken the DD role by way of cutting back a bit. Since you don’t share a bloody supply with the embryo for the first few weeks, I don’t really see the harm, but if we still don’t get our BFP after the next couple of cycles, I might think of reigning it in a bit more 🙂

you don’t share a blood supply yet, so i am firmly in the “drink til it’s pink” family

I was TTC for 2.5 years so hell ya I kept drinking… to be honest my social life kept me sane.

    Drink till it’s pink!

Caveat: I drank until I found out I was pregnant by blood test which was two days prior to getting a BFP on an HPT. Although, my drinking was minimal that week (it was over Christmas) because I was already feeling nauseous and alcohol just wasn’t going down that well!

@MRS-K:  I’ve been TTC for a year and have gone to two different acupuncturists over the past 6 months. Both have advised me re diet. I’ve been told to give up all artificial sweeteners and caffeine and well as told to increase green veg. I’ve never been advised to give up alcohol (though I try to cut down).

I initially swore off alcohol, thinking it would come very quickly. I smartened up quick and started drinking some. As long as you aren’t drinking heavily (i.e., generally regarded as more than 1 drink per day for women), your fertility should be fine.

It took 9 months/10 cycles to conceive, so it would’ve been pretty crappy to give it all up for 1 1/2 years by the time pregnancy ended.

Yeah, I totally drank until i got a positive test. First, I had no idea how long it could take. I will say I wasn’t exactly getting hammered in the TWW, but you aren’t even sharing blood with the baby at all until something like a week after implantation.

I thought I would miss drinking, but I’ve had no desire to drink since getting a BFP. It’s actually amazing how aversions work. lol

I’m not a heavy drinker by any means. It wouldn’t impact my life to stop drinking while we TTC, so that is what I will likely do.

I only drink from blue plastic wine glasses when TTC. Stay classy!
