ashes88 : I don’t get the judgement of some of the posts about how it’d just be a class on having sex. I know a lot of catholic couples who took family planning classes about temping/charting as part of their pre marital counseling.
However, there’s tons of information out there that’s more readily available, like the book PP’s have mentioned, taking charge of your fertility.
As others have mentioned, there’s also baby classes a lot of couples take while pregnant that discuss labor, delivery and basic child care. Your post implies possibly taking that class before TTC which would be a bit overkill and will be more useful to you when you are actually pregnant.
Overall, it is AWESOME that your DH is so into it already. A lot of girls have complained about their DH not being very involved, or understanding the importance of timing, etc.

Lol! My bad. I didn’t ask that very well 😝 . It’s not a class on HOW TO TTC, but rather a class on what to expect when having a baby. From what he said, it’s not so much a skills class, but talks about how having a baby impacts the different aspects of your life.

ashes88 : I wouldn’t bother with a baby class until you are pregnant. I would do it in the 2nd or 3rd trimester.
As for how your life changes, it changes in EVERY possible way, but everyone makes it work so I’m sure you guys can too.

Unfortunately a class can’t teach how a baby will impact your life. They will teach you how to swaddle and change diapers. And I think you’ll feel really weird going to it not being pregnant as 99.99% of the people there will be. Maybe have DH read a book? I think there’s a good one called “baby makes three” I think that may be more helpful! But if you guys wanna do the class then go for it! It’s cool he’s excited and wants to learn!

When we had pre marital counselling they talked about how you need to be a strong couple to have a baby and we said what we saw our roles being as parents and any concerns we had about how it would change out relationship. I’m not sure what a whole course could teach you to be honest.
