Just wondering if you bees wore your e-ring and/or wedding band while on honeymoon? I’m worried I’m going to lose mine! Not that I really ever take it off (only to shower), but I’m just worried because it’s so far from home! And with some activities we’ll be doing (snorkeling, various water activities, etc) I don’t want to lose it in the water or something!

I’m not typical but I don’t wear my rings on vacation. I’m too afraid of them falling off or getting lost (I take my rings off often at home too).

_blackbird_: we went to Paris & Barcelona for our honeymoon, and I only brough my wedding band. DH working in insurance so he is always worried about me getting mugged LoL and we are in another country, so anything could happen. If i was going to the caribbean, I wouldn’t take it.

I wore both, but we only went to Catalina (not sketchy or far from home). I did/do take it off for underwater things, and I don’t wear them when I shower or wash dishes or do anything that requires my hands to get dirty.

Hubby and I talked it over after I suggested this to him and he agreed totally! We’re both going to get the cheapest wedding bands at our local jewelery store to wear on our honeymoon. It’s odd but I’m kind of excited to get a new ring (I love my original wedding band obviously), just something about getting new jewelery!

We did our honeymoon before the wedding. We went to brazil during the world cup and we were there to party so I didnt want to take the chance of anything happening to my e-ring. My fiance thought it was best for me to leave it home too. I just wore the watch he gave me for my birthday the whole time.

_blackbird_: I wore both of my rings to 3 different countries and into the water all the time when we went on our honeymoon. My husband wore his band with no issues also.
Also, my mom has worn both her rings for over 38 years on every possible trip and never had an issue. My friends wear their rings also with no problems.

I wore both mainly because I had a DW and didn’t want to get married without my real rings. We discussed getting fakes but in the end I just took my rings. I’m glad I did. My rings do swing around and the only time they felt loose was in the ocean and I clasped my fingers together. My husband took his off to go swim with whale sharks in the ocean. We did take then off and put them in the safe during our massage. The pools have been fine.
I figure the rings are meant to be worn and it was such a special holiday for us. FYI, my ring set cost about $15k and I have also felt really safe wearing it around at the resort and tourist excursions in Mexico.
i did leave my heirloom diamond RHR in the safety deposit box at home.

_blackbird_: If it’s fitted properly, it should not fall off just because you’re in the water. I’ve gone scuba diving, snorkeling, beaches, pools, etc with my rings on and they are still on my finger today. As long as you can’t fling your ring off your hands if you shake vigously, it’s most likely not going anywhere. If you’re super paraniod and in the better safe then sorry camp though, it would probably be best to leave them at home (hidden/in a safe/at someone else’s house, I’m paraniod bout that since being broken into) and ease your mind.

pinkshoes: It’s fitted properly and doesn’t come off too easily (except in the winter when my hands are freezing it gets a bit loose). I’m just paranoid about losing my rings while so far away from home, and if my hands get cold in the water I’m worried about my rings getting loose. We are going with better safe than sorry and getting stand-in rings (my husband’s wedding band was expensive so he decided to get one too).

We went to the mountains and I wore both my rings except for when we went 4wheeling. I just wore my band for that. I would just wear the band during water activities if you’re worried about it.

I wore mine but we didn’t go anywhere exotic or even out of the state. So, I guess I had no reason to worry about it. However, we went camping over the 4th of July and I left them at home and wore a stand in wedding band.

_blackbird_: I’ll be wearing mine, with the exception of any snorkelling/diving we do (which won’t be much). I wear mine all the time at home Inc swimming so see no real need not to wear it.

We went to Africa for our honeymoon and I just felt safer not wearing my real wedding rings. I bought a cheap silver stand-in ring and wore that.

We’re going to Brazil. My husband will wear his because it doesn’t look like any kind of expensive metal. I’m not taking my engagement ring, but will probably take at least one of my bands. I purposely got my tri-color bands as just plain metal, no stones, for trips like this. I’ve been told by a Brazilian gf not to even wear a metal watch or any jewelry at all, just to avoid attacting any attention.
