- Wedding: June 2014
I just visited a venue today and completely fell in LOVE with it. It’s a brand new room at my venue so no picture up online of it. It’s got a white, modern light installation ( no blingy chandelier, hooray!) with the walls done in stone work tile that are taupe and slate gray with a water wall in the cocktail area. It is very clean and modern which was not what I was expecting at all, but so me. No gaudy blingy anything in sight much to my relief.
Standing there I just couldn’t picture how to work with it. It was set up for a wedding with purple accents and white tablecloths and it looked super mismatched and ick. The coordinator pulled a brown table cloth with a sandy/gold overlay and it looked great and went with the feel of the room, but then what to do about flowers? I hate all white flowers and since I am using real flowers no option for brown/taupe/gold.
So this got me thinking: how did you decide on your colors/theme? Did you book a venue that had the feel you wanted, did you see the decor and work with it or did you just go with what you liked regardless of if it matched and fit?
PS Anyone that can come up with a color palette for me is my new BFF.
