we made offer on monday.–written offer wednesday with an expiration date of 5 30 friday night. 5 45 fiance calls saying they rejected offer but gave counter offer…. we have til sunday to except it or reject it.. the owner/seller said this offer is the lowest he will go… its still alot more then we offered but signifcantly less then the asking price…

If you know this is the house for you, do it! Fiance and I lost our dream house by 20k 4 months ago and we regret it every single day… When you will be living there in years, you’ll know the extra money was worth it….!

The sellers on our house took what we offered. But from what I understand that’s not normal.

We offered, they countered, we countered back, they accepted. If push had come to shove, we would have paid the extra because this was absolutely “our house”.

They ALWAYS say that is the lowest they will go.
You have to decide if that dollar amount is worth it to you guys and if the HOUSE is worth that amount. Don’t forget to add in closing costs and any updates you will need to do.
IF they are truly unwilling to go any lower a good negotiation tactic might be to ask them to cover closing costs or pay for a home warranty.
