I just turned 30 in October and I think my body is changing shape again (kind of like it did from teenager to 20s), my hips feel like they’re getting wider and my boobs are getting bigger. It’s difficult for me to really see the situation though because I had always been somewhat smaller (5’2″ and weighed anywhere from 110-120 the last 10 years or so), and then this last July I found out my thyroid had all but completely died which was explaining why my weight kept going up despite my efforts of working out like a mad woman and eating like a damn rabbit.
So now, I’m somewhat confused when I look in the mirror and put on clothes. I was always a size 5 until around last year, earlier this year. I was up to 130 at my biggest before I got on thyroid meds (which, they’re still tweaking with them to get the right dosage) and I’m now sitting around 122. I used to be able to wear a size 5 just fine at that weight, but now… umm, dont’ even think about it if I want to eat or breathe that day. haha
Anyone else notice any changes in their bodies around this time? And NO! I’m not pregnant! lol

@redheadedstranger: I’m 31..turning 32 next year and my body has changed but in a good way. I have never been this small in my life! I dont know if its stress or what but I think I’m the smallest I have ever been!! I started running before my wedding and have kept with it after the wedding and I also cut out some major things in my diet so that is probably the main reasons.
I have heard that your meatabolism does start ot slow down more after 30 so it makes sense as to why peoples bodie start to change. I wish I had the problem of getting bigger boobs though!!!

Mine went to crap at 40,in the last two years I’ve gained 30lbs. Until then I was the same clothing size, same bra size, same everything since I was 18. I thought there was something wrong with me and had my doc run tests. Everything came back fine. Doc told me “what are you thinking, you’re forty, you can’t eat carbs any more”, ugh.

No… I’ve am 32 and my body has been the same size since I was about 18. I would welcome some changes though!

@redheadedstranger: Things for me started changing around 27. I’ve always been a bit of a yo-yo but at 27 the weight distribution shifted around and my midsection is slimmer, my hips make more sense (i used to have a really exaggerated hip dip but that has ‘corrected’) – I’m getting closer to hourglass than pear.

I think my body actually looked better when I was 30 than it ever has! My boobs got a little bigger (score!) and I seem to have more of an hour glass figure now. I have noticed that I can’t eat like I used to in my 20s, so no more late night binge eating at the dinner blacked out drunk!

I’ve definitely rounded out more as I’ve gotten older. I don’t know that it happened the second I turned 30 but as I came upon it in my late 20s etc…extra weight is harder to get off, i’m not as lean as I used to no matter how hard I try, my butt is certainly carrying more eweight than it ever did. And further aside from body changes, I just don’t have the energy I did when I was in my 20s. I go to bed at a decent time, I hate parties that go late into the night, I look at people in their 20s being loud and hyper and wondering where the hell they get so much energy on 4 hours sleep! LOL

@nycsa: But I did lose my ability to stay awake all night somewhere in my mid 20’s

That’s what I feel like my body is “trying” to do, but I’m having trouble getting that hourglass shape because my waist isn’t getting any smaller! haha I used to be more top heavy and now as y’all kind of explained it seems to be evening out around the hip area, which is great…. just gotta figure out how to make my waist cooperate so I don’t wind up an apple.
Thanks for the input! I’m NOT going crazy imagining my body doing things it isn’t.

So far, in regards to weight gain, no (I’m 33) however, I have noticed that my “time of the month” is so much worse! I never used to get cramps or headaches, but now it seems to be the norm.

Gosh I turned 30 and everything started breaking down lol! I got shingles, osteoarthritis, anemia and lost about 10% of body weight within a few months of turning 30. Makes me feel positively creaky. I now weigh somewhere around 105lbs and haven’t been this small since I dunno…grade 8, 9? Even my father started asking why I was losing so much weight and he never notices these things.

I turned 30 this past May. Apart from a boob job, my bodies been the same since I was 14! (Hence the boob job)

35 here and nothing has changed since I was like, 23. I have been hoping to gain a little bit of weight when I reached 30 since forever and it just has not happened to me (and this is after two kids) yet.

I’m 38 and have worked out all my life and no, I didn’t notice any changes at 30. I have had pretty much the same figure since I was 20.
