I did the 1-hr (non-fasting test) and my Darling Husband did not come. Personally, I don’t think its worth having him there since all I did was drink a glass of flat orange soda and then get blood drawn an hour later. I guess the comapany may have been nice during the wait, but I didn’t think it was worth taking time off for.

No he didn’t.  Bring a good book for the wait and you’ll be fine 🙂  I did feel very tired and a little nauseous after the test, once I was home and had eaten.  It might be worth it to take a half day off yourself so you can rest a bit after the test.

I was wondering the same thing.  I think my doctor will be scheduling my test at my doctors appointment next week.

My Darling Husband didn’t either (and I did the long/fasting test), he was just WAY to busy at work to sit around the lab with me.

No. It’s sooo borning I wouldn’t subject anyone to sitting and waiting for me to drink something.

No need for him to be there.  I actually was able to drink the orange stuff at home and then I headed to the lab to get my blood drawn.  I just had to make sure my blood was drawn an hour after I drank the stuff.  I felt just fine.

My Darling Husband is going with me when I take mine:) It’s combined with a normal doctor’s appt. and he needs to entertain me! Oh, and for moral support:(

My husband didn’t go with me.  I begged him to but he just couldn’t get the time off of work for that appointment (he said he’d rather go with me to the 28 week which I understand since I have to have another ultrasound).  I’m terrified of needles (I usually faint or almost faint and feel terrible the rest of the day when I have to face needles) and thought it would be awful but I did fine.  I didn’t feel great after drinking that stuff by far, I felt pretty nauseous with a headache but I took a couple of snacks and the nurse gave me juice after the blood draw.  She also let me sit there with her for like fifteen minutes to make sure I didn’t feel too sick from either the drink or the blood draw.

Mine is combined with a regular doc appointment, and they actually gave me the drink to take home, so I only show up 45 minutes after I take the drink for my blood draw. Then I go into the regular doc appointment. But I’m not going to have my husband come to this one. I just figure a lot of it is going to be spent in waiting rooms and running back and forth to the lab to get the bloodtest. So he’ll save his time and come to another appointment that is more focused on the baby!
