Mine will because I’m DIYing them, but I think as long as they match the formality of the event so guests know what to wear, you’re good! By the time I get to a wedding, I usually forget almost everything about the invites.

We don’t really have a theme… just a color scheme.

What’s your theme and budget for invitations?? I usually get a ton of great ideas by just asking the bees what they think could work!!

I had the same problem, so I DIYed mine, and yes, they do match our theme. Invitations set the stage for the wedding.

My theme is peacock feathers.  Not the jewel toned, gold filled peacock.  Just black, white green and peacock.  So my invitations and STDs had feathers on them.  What is your theme?  Do you have any local stationary stores who could custom make them for you?

I DIY’d as well.  We didn’t really have a “theme” but we did have a garden wedding, so I suppose they kind of went with that.

@SweetRose2011: they’re great, but not subtle if that’s what you’re going for. if you have your heart set on them, talk to the seller and explain your budget restrictions and see what they can do – maybe they’re willing to give you just the invite itself for a lower price and then you can DIY the other elements via zazzle or something? Really though, I think it would be fairly easy to duplicate – find some high quality medieval stock images and a ye olde font and you’re in business!

You should keep searching! Sometimes Etsy invites are kind of pricey. I found these from Invitations by Dawn and they would fit. I would just keep looking, you still have a little while!

@SweetRose2011: Those are very nice. I had considered something similar in a Victorian style; however, they were way over budget. If you want to see my DIY invitations, you can see them here, for an idea. I have included a cost breakdown with that post.

Mine actually had nothing to do with our official wedding colors, they just conveyed the casual elegance that I wanted for our wedding. I figured no one would even notice they didn’t match (except other brides) and no one has mentioned it to me yet!

I’m a graphic designer, so I will design our invites myself, so they will probably match!

I was lucky to find my invites at a store called MARC’S for a box of 100 invites, programs, response cards, menu cards all for $10. They are in our wedding colors and DIY. I just went ahead and bought 2 boxes of them. So I got 200 invites for $20. We don’t have a theme, unless CHEAP is a theme…lol

Yep, I’m a little theme crazy so I’m trying to coordinate everything to some extent. We’re doing pocket-fold invites in our wedding colors (burnt orange and chocolate brown). The closure tag will coordinate with our menus, programs and favor tags.
