I never saw mine in any pics, and never felt them slide! They're the best thing ever, IMO.
Nope, if they were sewn in correctly it shouldn't. Unless the dress is only one layer.
Oh, and for me, I used one of my old wonderbras to put in my dress. It was great. It gave me some extra support because I needed it. And I didn't have go out and buy those cheap foam slivers.
If your seamstress does a good job, your cups should not be seen. I had cups sewn in and I loved the shape they gave me (I'm a B cup, so the sewn in cups added a bit of ommmph!).
Oh yeah - my seamstress sewed in an extra...bra strap? on the back. The dress already came with an interior stretchy corset button thing to hold it up, but I'm pretty small so when she sewed in cups, she also added an extra interior strap that looked like a bra strap. It kept the dress up all night.
@yrret107: cool--so you had the bra sewn in? I'm pretty new to this dress shopping stuff and I'm trying to envision how the alterations would work
@huckleberry783: Yeah, I gave my seamstress my old strapless bra, I told her she could cut it up. So she cut it up, took off the straps and attached it to my dress. I'm an A cup so I needed the extra padding. It was great.

My dress had sewn-in inserts! (Last minute addition by my seamstress when I realized my dress was too big!!) They didn't show in any of the photos, except the ones of my dress hanging in a window with the light coming in. You could see kind of a yellowish tint. My advice: if you go with them, get ones that match the color of your dress exactly!

A few friends and also some bees have suggested that I consider sewn-in cup inserts in a gown I'm thinking about buying. In casual department store dresses that come with these, I've felt that inserts are very noticeable.
If you added sewn-in inserts to your dress, did you end up regretting it later/thinking they were noticeable in real life or photos? Or did it add nice, unnoticeable shape to support the natural line of the gown?
