cls9q:  I tried BistroMD one summer and I thought the snacks were crap.  I really enjoyed most of the lunches and dinners.  Theres another one called Diet to Go that I tried right after.  At the time I lived in the Midwest and they were delivering to me like BistroMD, but now I live in the DC area.  Theyre based out here and I could go pick up my meals fresh once a week…sooo tempted to try it again this summer…

cls9q:  oh it definitely sounds like they’ve improved the snacks!  It’s been a couple years…I just remember these plastic tasting gelatin shakes and some weird garlic soy ball things…jerky would have been fab.   I liked the BistroMD better, im just intrigued by the prospect of being able to pick up fresh in my area.

I did about a month and a half (totalling the whole summer) on each and lost about 20 pounds total.  It definitely came off faster with BistroMD, but I could have been plateauing by the time I tried the other.

I started nutrisystem 3 weeks now. im down 9 pounds. The food is awesome . Im very pleased so far. not hungry but I have to eat when planned or I would be. They have a shake for the mid day tiredness, Im not fond because it has tea in it but im drinking it and feel much better after, good luck to you with your plan.

cls9q:  I’m a little confused… wouldn’t it be more healthy and cheaper to just make your own food? There are lots and lots of websites and recipes and cookbooks that can get you started on easy, healthy meals. The best trick I ever learned was to only shop on the perimeters of the grocery store. Honestly, the picture you posted doesn’t look healthy at all. It just looks like they’re restricting the amount of food you eat, not actually giving you healthy food. Of course if you don’t eat a lot of and drink a ton of water you’re going to lose weight, but that’s not necessarily healthy.

$9 dollars a meal sounds super steep to me, but if you like it more power to you!

Looking at the picture I second the other poster where it doesnt look healthy…low cal maybe, healthy no-

Unless you plan on eating these meals for the rest of your life, it might be worth the time and effort to learn to shop and cook healthy meals for yourself. Part of the reason people can’t maintain weight loss is because they lose the weight in ways they will not stick with. The second you stop this diet you might just put the weight right back on, unless you start cooking heathly meals ( and if you do that then, why not start now and save the money?)

I’ll be curious to know how much weight you actually keep off after going off the diet and resuming cooking your own meals.

Also, if your FI is just fending for himself or what during this process.

That doesn’t even look healthy or appetizing. It looks like airplane food.. I might be missing something but eating healthy doesn’t involve slathering your meat with salty gravy or eating useless carbs like white potatoes.

It sounds like your restricting your calories, not at all eating healthy. Another PP hit the nail on the head, only shop the outer perimeter of the grocery store.. focusing mostly on fresh produce, lean meats, and fish.

Not to mention, you can make food that’s actual healthy for the same price. If not less.
