(Closed) Dieting Bees… How did you do yesterday?

Nice… this is a really good idea!

Breakfast: coffee w/ skim milk

morning snack: yoplait light yogurt

lunch: salad w/ balsamic vinaigrette dressing

dinner: baked tilapia with breadcrumbs and lemon

I did really well all day, then went kinda crazy with some leftover xmas cookies. Embarassed Oh well…. there’s only a few left and once they are gone no more junk food is allowed in the house! I never miss it when it’s gone… but when it’s on the counter staring at me, I just can’t resist!!

Good luck today bees! I didn’t work out yesterday, but I’m starting 30 day shred tonight!

Nice job, ladies! I didn’t do quite as well, but I think that’s because I haven’t really started planning out my meals properly. Here was my day:

Breakfast: coffee with skim milk, bowl of frosted, shredded mini-wheats with skim milk.

Lunch: leftover pesto pasta with chicken and mushrooms. One piece chocolate (dark chocolate filled with dark chocolate ganache).

Dinner: more leftover pasta (I had made a TON of it). 1 glass red wine.

Snack: Tortilla chips (yuck, bad!)

Exercise: Dancing w/the Stars Cardio Dance, Abs of Steel (yup, kicking it old school!)

Sooo…not so great, but not the worst day ever. A couple of obstacles I have coming up are a) I’m in culinary school for baking & pastry, so I tend to have lots of bad stuff around me all of the time, and b) I’m trying out chocolate and cheesecake recipes for our wedding favors and cake. I better start pawning stuff off on our neighbors!

@KatNYC2011: I like exercise videos for the convenience, but I do tend to get bored with doing the same ones over and over. I would prefer to sign up for a live class at a gym (like zumba – I love zumba!) but alas, the budget won’t allow it these days!

What kind of exercise do you like to do?

@KatNYC2011: Wow, running along the river sounds nice! Ditto the horseback riding, but I am a little afraid of horses myself!

They have a set of Zumba dvds out on the market now, if you’re looking for something you can just do at home sometimes if you can’t make it to the gym. I don’t know if they’re any good, but if you try them, let me know!

 Okay, here goes.

Breakfast: 1 cup oatmeal, cofee with milk and 2 sugars

Lunch: Turkey burger on whole grain bun, no cheese, dijon mustard – one packet, with onion, tomato, pickle and lettuce

Dinner: 1 chicken breast, baked with salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil, one crown brocolli with no butter

Drinks: 1 beer, half bottle of red wine – yeah, I know.

As usual its the sugar that gets me 🙂

Breakfast was a shredded cabbage salad with veggoes and leftover shredded turkey leg on it with a ginger lime dressing.

Snack was some plain yogurt with some frozen berries and 1/2 a cookie.

Lunch was a spicy black bean sauce stirfry with chicken (thigh), eggplant, mushroom and leek and a pretzel rod with some PB

Snack was a string cheese and brussels

Dinner was late so I was starving and had 1 oz triple cream cheese wth 4 crackers to start.

Bowl of mushroom miso, 4 oz NY strip steak, cabbage salad with pom seeds and veggies and a small bowl (maybe 1/2 serving? of whole wheat pasta)

and dessert wsa 5 large gum drops

Exercise was just 15 minutes of yoga. Its usually a light day, but with the errands I didnt have time for more or the run I wanted.

@KatNYC2011: I brought some chocolates to work today.. I can’t have them in the house anymore!! I usually just have a small salad with the tilapia, but on Monday I wasn’t very hungry and just ate it alone.

Still on track as of today! Slept in yesterday and kinda skipped breakfast (oops!) I ate:

Lunch: penne with tomato sauce

Snack: Laughing Cow cheese wedge, 1 small piece of chocolate

Dinner: Spicy Honey-Brushed Chicken ( OMG SO GOOD ) Here’s the recipe. I used chicken breast instead of thighs. Some tortilla chips with homemade mango salsa (1 mango, 1 small tomato, little bit of onion, salt, pepper and lime juice).

Exercise – 30 day shred! Tonight is Pilates. Never tried it before, so I’m excited for something new.
