    Dieting Bees: Let's Do It Together! : wedding 50262 246960261886 2355713 N

Let's meet here, buzz this thread and have some dieting friends and we'll bee accountable together!

This, along w/the fitness thread might help you beecome your perfect size and feel bee-autiful inside and outside!

I am doing (started today) a specialized diet program, w/diet supplements and vitamins, combined with 1 hr exercise a day (had a great walk w/hubby)!  My goals are twofold:

    • astound my doctors in March at my checkup and with labwork.  Show em' 41 ain't nothing but a number
    • look simply amazing by spring break week (1st wk in april)

So that's why.  I also want to rock a little bikini for our first anniversary honeymoon trip this summer too!

So..this is my day one.  I'll check in here daily too.  How 'bout you?  Wanna bee fit?

I wanna bee fit! I am totally in!

My goal is going to be 6-7lbs a month. We are starting tomorrow since we will be back into a work routine. Also, I have a head cold so hopefully I will feel well enough to work out tomorrow.

    Anyway, I am in!

ETA: are we gonna do before/after pictures or something for inspiration?

I am TOTALLY game! I am so excited for this. Ultimately I'd love to drop about 150 lbs, but that definitely is going to take some HARD work and determination. I need serious motivation, but I know I can do it!

@HoneyBear: I am entirely too embarrassed to post pics of what I look like now, but maybe as the weeks go on I'll get the courage, lol

I am in!  I had lost a few when we 1st got engaged, but have put them back on over the holidays.

So...here i go again.  Wedding is a little over 7 months away, and i'd LOVE to lose 30 lbs. (if i want to lose by my fitting, i guess my goal is 6 per month)

I'll look around and see if I have a before pic.

what can we do to keep each other motivated and accountable?

We should report our loss each week and check in each day to say if we worked out and ate healthy...etc

any other ideas are welcome!!! I need someone to help keep me on track :)

im totally in! i was a work out fool before the wedding but can honestly (and embarrasingly say) i havent stepped foot in a gym since the wedding!

and have gained the 10 pounds i lost before the wedding AND lost all my muscle mass (im squishy again! booo....) sooo now that one of my bestus friends is getting married in October and im her MOH im all in for getting back on the wagon so i dont look like a heifer standing up there at the altar!

im planning on working out 3 times a week at the gym at least, with at least a half hour on the off days of cardio (walking around the neighborhood) - with one day as my "cheat day". eating more veggies and salads and just watching my portions and alcohol intake for a few months til i get back on track.

i think i can shed 30 pounds total if i work at it by October.... its a measily 3 pounds a month right?

Do you think we could do a weekly weigh in thing? Maybe we can do it every sunday afternoon or something like that? I know myself and I going to need some accountability lol

eta: if anyone is interested in trading yahoo or skype names so we can chat on there on a daily basis?

I'm in!  I've been needing some motivation and support to get back into running and eating healthier.  My goal is to lose 15 pounds by the end of this semester, so that's just shy of 4 pounds a month through the end of April.  I'd like to lose another 5 pounds after that, but I think I'll be feeling a lot better about myself with the first 15.

My inlaws get here tomorrow and we'll be doing some serious eating, so I'm planning to really get started on Monday the 10th.  I think weekly weigh/check ins would be great!

Definitely count me in! Wedding is less than 18 weeks away now, and I need to make as much headway as possible by 7th March, as that's first measuring session with dressmaker!

The one thing I do have on my side is lots of time during the day, and a cheap off-peak gym membership. Here's the plan:

I'm going to swim 30 lengths tomorrow, 30 Wed and 20 Fri, which makes a mile. I'll also do the aquarobics class directly after on fri.

I'm going to do a full weights & cardio 70 min workout Tues & Thurs, which includes starting the couch to 5k  this week: on the treadmill Tues and Thurs, on the road Sat.

I've signed up for a Zumba trial class Tues the 11th, but I have zero co-ordination so we will see how that goes.

Sunday off, unless something really weird happens to me and I decide to walk my 5mile block.  Has happened before.  But only rarely lol.

I'm going back to Weight Watchers Thurs ( dreading the weigh in!!!!!)  I know from past experience that if I behave myself and keep to my points I'll lose 14-15 pounds in the first 4 weeks.  The trouble is I'm like a pressure cooker - the longer I'm good, the bigger the blow out when it comes! I'll be counting on you ladies to kick my ass outta the fridge around valentine's day lol !!

    Good luck us!

I"m in too! I love the idea of a weekly weigh - in. I need to be held accountable for sure....I would like to lose 30 but would be happy with 20 by the wedding, which is less than 8 months away...eek! I've made some rules for myself that include limiting my alcohol, drinking enough water (huge problem for me) and working out at least 4 hours/week. My dress fits but not as well as I would have liked, so there's some motivation! :)

Has anyone tried using "Fatbet.net" ? It's a pretty cool idea - it's great for a bunch of people as ewll.  Everybody enters their weight every week and it keeps track of how much everyone is losing.  (Your actual weight isn't made public - just the amount you lost).  I can set one up if anyone is willing?  If we get a few I'll set it up and then put the link here so you can all add your own...

    what do you all think?

Okay, Im in. Fatbet.net sounds interesting- I would be willing to participate. Our wedding already passed, which is probably good, because now I cant use "wedding planning" as an excuse not to go to the gym!

OK. I set it up anyways, if anyone wants to join feel free!  It's a good way to be held accountable.  To join just click this link and set up your account:

    http://www.fatbet.net/joinbetreg.aspx?JoinBetId=6655&Digest=s1uuf36MQne8tslF84ZzBA

I set it for 3 months - I figured that was a good start.  If anyone has a better idea i'm up for that too!

    @smactley:

Is your dress in?  I am the week before you 8/20 and i ordered a dress in a size that "just fit" at the time, but I had to "suck in".  Here's hoping it fits when it comes in!!!  Talk about a motivator!!!

@JerzyLady: Yes it just came in!  I ordered a size up from what I tried on, which was just slightly too tight - but even the bigger size is still a little too tight around the middle....I could get away with it but i think i'd be upset with myself.....if not, i'll just have to buy some good spanx :)

@smactley: ut oh---thats' scaring me (which is a good thing since I have time to lose the weight).  The sample Barely zipped on me.  It made my waist look small, but my back fat was hanging out LOL...I also don't want to be afraid to breathe that day ...

The seamstress talked me into ordering the size i tried on, even though it was tight because it fit perfectly in the chest.  Just need to lose a little in my mid-section and back.

I'm totally in.  I need some motivation to fit in the bridesmaid's dress that was ordered for a late summer wedding.  I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym after being a total slacker for the last month.

Hey girls - why don't we share what our eating/fitness goals are? While I'm not looking to lose weight specifically (maybe once I get closer to my wedding!), I really want to work on my nutrition, as well as working out more regularly. My goal for this week is to eat (a healthy) breakfast every day, do Couch to 5K week 2, and cook dinner at least twice (actual meals, not just frozen food). Believe it or not, the cooking is the hardest goal for me! I like to use MyPlate on Livestrong (formerly Daily Plate) to track my eating habits.. What other tools do you girls use?

    Count me in.

I rejoined Weight Watchers right after Thanksgiving, but have been gaining and losing the same 3lbs.

I want to lose 20-25lbs before my wedding in 9 months.

I really need to stop falling prey to my take out cravings and cooking more as well as making it to the gym rather than getting side tracked with a martini.

I just weighed myself on Thursday and not only did I gain back what I lost at the beginning of last year, I'm now at my heaviest weight ever! I started tracking my calories and going to the gym as much as possible. I'd like to lose 10-15 pounds by the weddingl in June.

I decided last night I'm joing Weight Watchers Online tonight after I get home from work. But I'd love to do the before and after photos on here that some previous posters mentioned. And the moral support will help everyone, I'm sure. Good luck with all your goals, ladies! I want to lose 20 lbs. :)

But...I don't know if I'd feel comfortable sharing my before pics. Maybe I could share them after a little bit of time, when I could post an after pic alongside to show how much I had improved.
