I just came home completely zapped of all energy and STARVING. Not just hungry- I mean, shakeyl light-headed, sugar crashy, must eat or kill something NOW hungry!
My default response to this kind of hunger is to come home, order something greesy/cheesy/delicious then slump into my coma of TBS sitcoms.
But I refused.
I tied a little string to my wrist this week to remind myself to stay on track. I have a wedding and a beautiful dress to wear and I want to look my best. I’ve been over weight for ever milestone in my life- why must I be over weight for my wedding too?
So what did I do?
I had my last shake for the day to shut my stomach up then I went downstairs to my little “home gym” and kicked some cardio butt!
BE STRONGER THEN YOUR CRAVINGS GIRLS! YOU CAN DO IT! m/

I applaud your willpower, but if you are light headed and shaking with hunger then your body is telling you to EAT.
Keep cut up veggies and low fat dips etc handy. Freeze healthy meals so you can chuck ’em in the microwave at a minutes notice.. but don’t not eat! Your body will go into starvation mode, and you will not maximise your weight loss.
I say all this with love, and totally respect your commitment to being the best bride you can be, but just be KIND to yourself.

@MrsOliveBird: Thanks. Yea, I was being a bit too strict this week and today I added an extra 200 calories (the shake I had) to calm the starvation sensations. It made all the difference. I’ve been on this weight loss journey for over a year now with 60 lbs lost. Every day is a new lesson learned. My body is always teaching me new things.
Thanks for the hugs and advice!

Well done! It’s those times when you want to eat NOW that it’s easiest to be weak, isn’t it? Quite a few times I’ve given in and said ‘but I was hungry/busy/rushed’ and let myself off the hook. I read somewhere that you can trick your body out of feeling hungry by distracting yourself for 10 mins with something else like brushing your teeth or having a drink, but I think that’s more for those times when you want to eat out of habit.
I agree with Mrs Bird that being light-headed probably means you needed to eat something, and well done for choosing the diet shake rather than something naughty. I keep diet bars in the cupboard for those times and bananas are great too.
