    Hello my wonderful lovely Bees!

I'm just wondering what different baby girls names do you like? ya know... ones you only hear once in your lifetime.

Xander is a boys name that i like.. as well as Brock, Jett, ARGH there was something else but i've forgotten.

Trying to think up girls names now... we did like Gabrielle but there is a lady that i work with that is so mean to me who's name is that... plus i dont like the idea of the nickname Gabby (which is what everyone calls the lady at work).

I like different.. but not too different like Apple etc

Different boy's names: Henry (old fashioned yet adorable and not heard often), Otis, Ezra, Tate.

Girl's names: Eloise, Gilda, Roxanne, Ever (if you're looking for something edgy vs. old fashioned).

If FI and I have a boy one day, he will be Presley..... unless I can talk him into Ezra. lol. Doubtful.

WHEN FI and I have a girl, lol, she will be Marah or Aria. I can't decide. I've wanted Marah since i was like 13, no joke. But Aria is so beautiful.

On the apple thing, i dont thnk ppl think before they name their kids these days. they just go, oh thats cool, i like it. But a name is so important, its a part of your identity. I would hate to be apple. lol.

(obviously) My son's name is Boston, and I have yet to meet anyone else with that name! My daughter's name is Addyson, and it was on the top 100 girl names list the year she was born, so it's fairly popular but we haven't met another with that name either. My son was ALMOST named Keidis, because I am a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers fan. And my daughter was ALMOST named Venice!

My name was almost Teresa.... mum liked that name... but then quickly remembered that it would not go with our last name (my maiden name was Green).

So making sure the name goes well with our last name is something i will make sure of too.

Zay-Lee is one of my co-works daughters name.. i like that very cute

Someone I know named their girl Adelyn. I thought it was ADORABLE. I'd love to use it if it wouldn't be such a mouthful with SO's last name ;)

@MzMarzipan: Penelope is on mine and FI's list, it's our number 2 choice.  Number one is Caroline.  When i was younger i always wanted Twiila as my great grandmothers name was Twila Winifred and I always liked that.  My grandma's name is Ella, which I also love.

Evelyn Rose... :D It's old fashioned and I love it. And may or may not be some combo of family names.

I love the name Liv as a first name (just Liv on its own, not short for Olivia) and I think Inez is a beautiful and unusual name.

I'm also all about old-fashioned names like Diana (probably not that unusual but not too common where I'm from) and I also like Jane, which is not very common for little people in my area.

Love this thread! Just tonight my SO and I were watching the TV show Firefly and absolutely love Alan Tudyk's character on it (any sci fi fans will understand). His name is Wash and we love the name, but are worried people will think that's way too weird to name a boy that! It's not short for Washington or anything, just Wash.

I love different and interesting names and these are some good ones!

Our son will be Porter, yes, as in the beer. lol!

It's a tribute to our first (blind!) date, when the waiter asked for our drink order, and I had FI go first. He orders a hefeweisen, and I a black butte porter. When the runner came by with our beers, he handed FI the blacker-than-coffee porter, and me the light hef with a lemon wedge, so I corrected him by pointing out that it was FI's. He replied, "Really? Wow. Way to out-beer him!" Talk about an icebreaker! :)

@littlemissmango: hahaha, that is the best story! I think we totally fall into that stereotype, SO is always ordering crazy dark beers and I'm like....do they have something wheat and fruity??

My favorite girl's name has been Emmaline for quite some time. Just the other night, FI mentioned liking the name Violet and it's growing on me.

For a boy, I really like the name Rowan. I want to use it as a middle name (I've had a first name picked out for the last ten years since my grandfather passed) but FI doesn't like it.

    @littlemissmango: That is awesome!

You have good taste in girls names :)

Just to let you know though, NO ONE calls me Gabrielle (I wish they did though :( ). My close friends and family call me Gab and my co workers and acquaintances call me Gabby.

I like unique names but FI does not. I love the name Adelina for a girl (and call her Lina for short) and I also like Adalia.

    For boys I like Luca

My daughter's name is Channing, and we get so many compliments on it. It's unique enough that nobody else has it, but not so unique that it sounds like we just made it up to be special snowflakes.

My 2 favorite girl names are Amelia Marae and Eliza Marae. Marae (pronounced muh-ray) is my middle name and I absolutely love it. I used to hate it and tell everyone my middle name was Marie but now that I’m older I appreciate the uniqueness of it.

My name is Malia (pronounced muh-lee-uh), and I have never in my entire life met someone with the same name, let alone the same spelling. I am in love with the name Elayna Sue (my mom's middle name is Sue), and calling her Ellie.
